Dang Skippy. My sons and I have been many times. I suck but have a blast every time.

You're gonna break a hip...
BTW I live under a mile from a ski resort for the last 40 years, and have NEVER had the urge to do it. I did get very good at waving, drinking & smoking cigars from the lodge's deck while my wife & kids skied.
It's da BOMB.

But when it's just right.
MAN!
It's friggin perfection.
The crunch of the snow underfoot. The scenery from the top of the lift. The snow bunnies wiggling their tails. The wind on your face as you carve a wide arc across the trail.
There are times to hit the bumps or bang the gates. But it's the casual-intensity of high speed cruising that makes me glad I'm not wearing sweatpants on that bus ride.
Only thing better is the hot tub after skiing=d>

I'd pay an American one dollar bill to see Oscar Pistorius downhill ski on those blades....maybe when he gets outta jail.

I've seen many one-legged skiiers. They put little skis on the ends of their poles.
Note to TW: I'm referring to their ski poles.
A friend introduced me to Snowboarding & although I broke my hand the first time on a board, I was determined to ride!!! Snowboard boots are comfy, cozy & there are no poles to get all tangled in the chairlift.
My hand healed after 2 1/2 months in a cast. That season was over. Next year I took a professional lesson from the most professional teenager. She taught me a lot! I advanced faster on my board than I ever did on skis.
My skiing friends shunned me for a bit & I cried, Boo Hoo, NOT!
I am glad that the angst between 2 plankers & knuckle draggers has died down a bit.
I hold no grudges. Just glad to be outdoors & enjoy what winter has to offer!
Now that I am a fog, I don't get out there as much & this year I am ready for an early spring!🌫
Would like to try boarding sometime since my son made the switch from skis this season. The more comfortable boots do look appealing...i get jealous watching boarders go up/down stairs. Skiing has been a father/son thing we've been doing once/week now for 3 years. This year my son has been trying to pressure me into doing the rails...unsuccessfully...so far.
Speaking of Pistorious, they do make skis called "blades." They're short stubby skis, about 2x larger than your ski boots....and they look ghey.
