is it better to let the cigar rest longer and then take a short puff and draw

or

let the cigar rest a shorter time and just take a draw

i ask, because sometimes if I let it rest too long, i have to do the first, in order to get the wrapper to start burning together with the filler again

I prefer to take my time while smoking.....and I can usually tell a much higher quality cigar with the slow approach because they require little to no touch ups. I think like many, I've had to force myself to slow down. I also get a way more consistent clean burn when taking my time. I don't necessarily take short puffs/draws but certainly rest longer inbetween.

i got that part, but I'm saying sometimes when you let the cigar rest too long, the first half of my draw won't get the wrapper relit. hence, the (very) short puff to get the fire going again and then the draw.

No more than a minute between puffs.

^^^

It's okay to do predraw puff if ya gotta.. I tend to do if more with cigars that don't give me enough smoke on the draw..

WGAF? However you enjoy it is fine.

If it tastes good to you, then you're doing it right, whatever it is that you're doing, keep doing it. If it doesn't taste right, then something needs to change - storage, smoking method, cigar itself, whatever. It's not rocket science.

Well, you just got one more opinion then.

My post count is more of a joke & a fluke than anything else, back on the old format (where there were no post counts BTW), you could only view the first 500 posts of a thread, and one could exploit a double-post bug in order to postbomb a thread past that point within seconds. A number of us, myself included, would postbomb threads at times, but where my post count went out of control was one particular thread, MACS's "idjits where are thou?" or something like that. It was already at like 12k posts and the next unbroken mark was 50k posts. I took that as a dare and set up a system in a very advanced, very scientific way... I set the system to max repeat and taped the enter key down, cost me a whole 2cents in R&D. I then used this keyboard of mass thread destruction to bomb the thread continuously for hours when I wasn't around. Took, IIRC, two days. Having achieved that, I went for the coveted 100k posts to one thread mark. It was like Mt. Everest without the frostbite and oxygen tanks and ****.

But it is a hollow victory, depriving Anth and Jack of their rightful spots as #1 and #2 poster with their constant stream of well thought out "Haaaa" "Holla" "What?" "Hummm" "Ghey?" and "bump" posts.
