Question form a humble nOOb - can you take your own cigars into a cigar bar as long as you are buyin drinks from them? And these are cigar bars, not your local B&M with a smoking lounge ( I always buy from them when I smoke there) - but I saw a comment on an app site about a fairly pricey place here in Denver and they said they took their own smokes in - just wonderin???????

Let the pummeling begin - 🐴 [frypan] [ram27bat] 😣

I always bring my own. But 99.9% of the time I buy at least one from them, just seems right, even if its a cheapie that you like.

Haven't been to many cigar bars, but when I have gone, I usually have some with me (by default) and buy at least one cigar + drinks. I have, in the past, smoked a cigar of my own after smoking one that I bought there. Nobody seemed to care.

If it's the Brown Palace in Denver, it's OK to bring your own. IMHO if you're buying alcohol, bring your own.

I wouldn't bring my own, if they sell cigars dont bring your own in. Just the same as food and drink, if they sell food you wouldn't bring your own in. Good time to enjoy a new cigar or one that you don't have in the humidor.

Our fav Steakhouse has an awesome cigar lounge. They have a decent selection in their humi..

Their rules are ,if you eat dinner either in the lounge or dinng room you may smoke your own. If not you pay a $5 or buy one of their smokes. Seems fair...

B&m's I buy from.

Cigar Bar I get to in Indy every couple months is posted you must buy "here to smoke here." I have no trouble with that rule as I only smoke a couple a week anyway.

Call ahead and ask what their policy is.

or Ask the bouncer at the door.

or While you're buying their cigar, ask about bringing your own next time.

Same as if you were to bring your fav bottle of wine to a restaurant...call ahead and ask if there's a uncorking fee.

Each cigar bar has its own rules.

The one I went to in Philly I brought my own

from the b&m downstairs, but always bought

a drink or meal. They charged twice the price

for the same cigar from the b&m. They're

now out of business, after 15 yrs.

At the stadium cigar bar, if you bought a cigar

downstairs your receipt would get you past the

bouncer, and into the bar area upstairs. Posh.

Also now closed.

The only one here has no problem with it. The last time I was there he finally was putting something in the humidor I would smoke. He just received a few different boxes of San Latanos. I passed and had a ERdM Choix Supreme followed by a Rass.

Kinda what I'm thinking too, 1st time in I bought a Montecristo White, which was good, but it was 29 frog skins! Could have had three from a B&M! Going to try Delaney's next. Looking for a place to go have a smoke and a drink before or after a show downtown.

Most of the time if I am planning on going I bring along my small 5 ct herf with me. The one I go to runs a BOGO specials (Tuesday-Thursday) on selected cigars and various other specials throughout the week so I will occassionally buy from them. Most of the other regulars do the same thing. I buy food and always have at least 3 beers so I don't feel bad about bringing my own. The owner even reassured me that they make the bulk of their money on food and beverage. They sell cigars more to placate a particular clientele than they do to profit directly off the sale of cigars.

It's important to remember some of these clubs that allow smoking can only maintain that status if they meet specific cigar sales percentages. Some may even charge a small "cork" fee for bringing your own.

My local cigar bar is buy 1 per 1 you bring to smoke. I usually buy 3 to 4 per one i smoke becuaes i want to keep them in business. They have a really good selection. Indiana does not have a percentage on sales to smoke but a city ordinace in indianapolis that you had to be in business before a certian date to have smoking.

If your buying drinks then 100% you can bring your own smokes. If its a local B&m like Steve said. Bring your own but buy at least 1 smoke.

There are a couple cigar bars/lounges around Tacoma. I always take a couple of my own and by at least 2. If i am at a new place (like a recent trip to Tucson), I usually walk through the humidor and pick out a couple i want to buy and then ask the employees while im paying if it is ok to smoke the ones i brought. I also have a pretty good repoire going with the tobacconist and I occassionaly bring him a cigar to try since he only smokes what they sell.

If in doubt, just ask.

I don't mind buying from my B&M. If I have one from home I wanna smoke, I smoke it. On the other hand I've never walked out of there for less than $40. Another shop in the area, insists you buy from them and pay $10 to smoke it. That guy will be outta business by Memorial Day. Dumb ass.

I have to say I was wrong. Talked to two cigar bar owners that told me its ok to bring outside cigars in. One place that don't sell food said that they encourage people to bring in food from local restaurants. I guess just be smart about it.
