Dopewell.Because you are obviously a rocket scientist would you pls explain to us how you got charged 24% of your purchase price for shipping?

That's an easy one. See all those singles he snagged for a buck? $0.25 shipping on a $1.00 item comes out to 25% of the purchase price. The diesels drop the average down a bit at 12.5%, then the 5ers bump it back up with the base shipping charge of $3.95 on the first one (~56%) and finally back down with the $0.50 each charge for the other two (7%) In a nutshell that's $13.20 shipping for a total of 44 cigars. Not terrible, percentage is just high because the prices were so low.

$3.95
$1.00 ($0.50 * 2)
$3.50 ($0.25 * 14)
$1.25 ($0.25 * 5)
+$2.50 ($0.25 * 10)
________________
$12.20???? Not sure where the $1 discrepancy stems from but it's an insignificant difference anyways.

A better way to look at it is the total cost. $73.20 / 44 cigars = ~$1.66 per cigar, shipped. That my friend is a hell of a deal.

sr20vet explained it pretty well. The only reason the percentage is so high, is because I win my cigars for far less then you could ever hope to. If I paid 2 or 3 times as much for the same smokes (as you would), then the percentage would be far less. But of course it's easier for you to throw out a red herring, then to admit that you are wrong. My above posted shipping confirmation is proof positive that CBid does NOT charge $1 per item, as you continue to ignorantly insist. Damn, you're thick. Thanks to you, I’m finally starting to understand how the President got re-elected.

obama-math?????
let's see.....
$13.20 (shipping) divided by $60 (amount paid for cigars) - the answer in percentage.........
gosh dang it.......that's too hard......lemme get my daughter......

OK.......the answer is....22% ........ NOT 24%....thus Dave got a GREAT deal on shipping and his cigars.......

but had the shipping cost indeed been 24% .........well............it would not have been such a great deal

Speaking of bad simple math... I noticed in my earlier post I had a typo (hit the 4 key instead of the 3 key when typing the total for the 14 singles) that threw my addition off. There is one curiosity DP, seems your shipping bill is $1 high if the base rate is indeed for the 1st 5er like I assume, and that rate is the standard $3.95. Edited my post above so the math is at least right.

sr20vet,
They where samplers. First sampler is $4.95, not $3.95.
