Tks opeimanta for your opinion, however it doesn't seem to fly with a lot of others. The bottom line is it's being called a shipping charge ,but has nothing to do with the cost of shipping the product.iIt's a bump to the price and those of you who say your still saving lots from buying from cb anyway are right. Its still a great deal.Just don't tell me they put the shipping price on their invoices cuz I;ve never seen one.

It may not "fly" with others. I don't like it..i buy elsewhere simple!

Let me explain it to you since you need that, If you don't like the way CBID does business, go elsewhere. This ain't the only rodeo in town....get over it.. go away and get a box of tissues and get in the corner sweetie! Somethings a best left unsaid....this is one of them. Move on sally 🐴

As for the shipping charges-REALLY? This is copy of my last(I am not a big hitter)order. It clearly has the SHIPPING charges....#-o

Merchandise Total $0.00 $15.00
Shipping Total $0.00 $4.95
Sales Tax $0.00 $0.00
Order Total $0.00 $19.95

you are saying that you are NOT smart enough to figure out the additional charges when CBID clearly states them in the fine print? whoa......you have a choice, you choose to whine like a girl......

RUTrol. If ignorance is truly bliss, you must be the happiest sob on the planet. All of my invoices read the same and have always read out the same as follows and I'll print slow so you can follow: merchandise total: $852.48
invoice total: $885.93
amount paid: $885.93

Now the only way a person can find out shipping fees is to deduct the merchandise total from the invoice total
which for your benefit as well for all the other math and english-impaired out there is$33.45.Now when your total order is a whopping $15.00 it doesn't really make a big difference, however when you place larger orders it does.
Again,at the risk of sounding redundant{sorry, you'll have to look that word up Rutrol) I'm not complaining about the price of the cigars, just what they are calling shipping charges. You see Rutrol shipping charges are used for shipping costs, get it ,get it?

Cbid tries to make a profit on the items up for bid and shipping. Whether this tactic is considered slimy or not, it's business.

Platinum members receive discounted shipping rates.

Shipping includes their cost of loading the box. Grabbing multiple singles is more labor intensive than throwing a mazo or box into a cardboard box.

So they have a "handling" department?

ZRX1200 wrote:

? Department has nothing to do with anything. When "some" mail order companies want to make an extra buck or two per order, they will charge their customers a shipping "and" handling fee. It is "usually" described as a separate cost from shipping, but is figured into the final shipping cost. Lucrative concept. Could be that Cbid charges a handling fee without describing it. Just calling it shipping. I got this info from the Cbid's Higher Grade Membership Department.

Gee Rutdog where'd you learn those big words like "idiot and stupid".I guess since you've most probably been called them enough they kind of stuck, huh? Just fyi when I called customer service about the charge they informed me it was NOW a dollar charge on every item.Like someone said earlier that contradicts{that means goes against) just for you ratdog what is said in the contract. Now she might have been wrong, but when I added it up she was right about my invoice which had no shipping charge listed.

Isn't really all that hard. Just ensure you're aware of the shipping costs any time you buy stuff off the interwebs.

Only twice I can recall that I felt duped by shipping charges here. First shipment after I switched from UPS to USPS and got tagged with a couple bucks for insurance. That was before it was identified in the small print. (It still isn't clear what they plan to charge for insurance - Unsat, IMHO.)

Second time was after buying a bunch of singles on Free-Fall. That one was a little more clear, but still BS, if you ask me. FF is always a buck no matter if you buy and TOP or a single Don Noname. I've always felt they should adjust the singles shipping charge on FF, but I've gotten nowhere with my argument.

It is not a dollar an item and there is no weight charge... directly from the link found on the shipping tab of every single auction here:

Instead of paying individual shipping charges for each product, multiple items shipped to the same address won during the same shipping period (either DAILY or WEEKLY), only the greater of the shipping charges apply, plus an amount for each additional item:
Singles Category: $0.25
5-Packs Category: $0.50
Boxes Category: $1.00
Merchandise Category: $1.00
Samplers Category: $1.00
Free Fall Category: $1.00
All Others: $1.00

In other words, if you choose weekly shipping and win several different auctions, you pay $3.95 - $6.95 for one auction and $.25 - $1.00 for each of the other items... it's not the greatest thing in the world and shipping charges can get ridiculously high, but if you play it smart you can still get nearly everything here for much cheaper than you can anywhere else...
