No these are not mine, but I know someone who bought them while on vacation (Aruba?). I was just curious if you could tell from the pic if they are real or fake. I tried to do some verifying on the internet. The bands seem legit, but I'm not sure about the cigar itself. I don't know if they were purchased from a LCdH or some street vendor.

The square dots look suspicious. Usually they are very specific about even space all around. - not resting on gold-embossed border.

The gold cuts the black in half along the horizontal and the short sides where it comes down to the yellow. Most fakes use real bands. The cigars look lumpy, and the bands loose. IMO.

I'm leaning toward real...fake, mainly because of the dots like others have said, but need more info/pics.

I'm definitely, definitely no expert... but the spacing between the bottom row of dots and the top of the gold bar above the words "cohiba" looks too small...

bands are real all the spacing looks dead on. Light one up. You will know right away. If he paid less than $15 I would question it. Cohiba"s in Cuba are still expensive

No. There is no way to 100% confirm the authenticity of Cuban Cigars via a picture without other information.
You can sometimes tell that they are fakes because they are a size &/or vitola that just doesn't exist or they are very poorly rolled, etc...
If they were purchased well above or below "normal" prices and/or from a "non-official store" then they are certainly suspect.

Has anyone smoked one?

Cohibas are probably the #1 faked cigars in the world. JMO

i have smoked one and i have one sitting in my humi right now the dots are to widely spaced unless mines fake which i doubt and plus 8 out of 10 times if you buy a so called cc in a main tourist place it's a fake

plus look how loose the roll looks..... a real cc cohiba are very tightly rolled you wouldnt see all them waves
