I know there are fans here of the 858 Sungrown, but what about the cammie wrapped natural? Any opinions? Worth $3 per? Thanks.

It's an excellent cigar, but one that I personally can't stand. $3/cigar is a very good price.

$3 ea? I gotta shop where you do, dpnewell. All the 858's are good smokes that get little notice over the more "reknown" Hemingways and Don Carlos. They seem to be very consistent, at least the ones I've smoked. I've had a few plugged Hemis and Don Carlos, but not a Flor Fina.

OK, I feel a little better now. I'm a Fuente novice and am not real familiar with their offerings. Lately, I've fallen in love with Hemingways and am starting to appreciate some of their other stuff.

I had won one lousy single at another site, and was trying to find something to add last night, to help defer the $5.95 flat rate shipping. I saw a box of 858s going for what I thought was cheap, and jumped on it for $74. It wasn't until after the auction closed that I realized that these where cammie wrappers, not the sungrown that I thought I was bidding on (I didn't know these came in 4 wrappers).

Since my tastes now lean toward medium/medium light, I'm sure I'll enjoy them. Thanks for the feedback.

Great value for a much better than average smoke. Just no fanfare so people don't know much about it as they should.

The sungrown rosado and the original rosado are kind of rare though.

TG,

I'm not aware that there is any difference between SG Rosado and Rosado. I know that the O R were released in 2002 in 50 cabs that only said Rosado (wrappers came from the the Oliva farm IIRC) and the 2010 release were in boxes of 20 marked SG Rosado. Other than that they look and smoke the same to me.

Enlighten me.

Thanks, TG. As I said before, I'm a Fuente novice and appreciate the education. My first few years smoking cigars, I was a full body hoe. The more ligero, the better. In the last year or so, I've been shying away from the "in your face" cigars, and starting to really appreciate the little nuances in lighter smokes.

For what it's worth, I like these in all the wrappers, including the candela. Although there are better candelas out there (Illusione) the price for these and many other AF's is rivaled only by Padron (IMHO) relating to quality for the price. Great value, excellent smokes, but now I am concerned that you will put them out of bizness with your bidding expertise.

The rest of us were better off when you ignored Fuente.

should add that these aren't going to win a complex smoke contest, but very consistent from cigar to cigar over the years.
