Has failed to deliver again IMHO.Was gifted a Herrera Esteli Lonsdale by a friend who knows I love the smaller RG's.He did not give me his opinion of the smoke, the price point nor the manufacturer.

While burning the HE last nite I kept looking at the band and thinking wow....for a budget cigar this really isn't all that bad. That band just screams BUNDLE CIGAR!!!Burned a little hot,no real discernable flavors other than average Honduran tobacco.Hell it tasted like a bundle cigar.....nothing I would put in my humidor I assure you.Boy was I wrong....about it being a budget cigar.Pulled some places up on google and it appears the best box(25) price for that BUDGET cigar I smoked is about 200 bones.$8 a stick by the box.....SHEEEEEEEEEEESH

Jonathon if you can sell this $3 smoke for that price my hat is off to you sir.You have proven P.T.Barnums theory once again.I do intend to try one of everything you make........when and if you WOW me I'll be the first to shout it to the high heavens.I owe you that much I suppose for pointing out all the over priced nothing more than average cigars you've thrown in the market place.

Again? What else has been a disappointment? The LP line is great albeit production or lack thereof is a PITA. I wish any of the pigs were easier to get. Maybe I'm spoiled, my local b&m's has 9s and 52s in stock always. They got plenty of uf13s recently as well.

I did hear the liga fans would be disappointed with the HE line and my local said he won't even bother trying to become a HE account. Everything else they do seems great. I'm kind of a liga whore though.

Not everyone here is an LP fan. I like the 52s, but find the 9s rather ordinary, and not worth anywhere near the coin they go for. Some here find the entire LP line to be pedestrian. Others are willing to pay $8+ for DE floor sweepings. To each their own.

Ok I will admit I liked the Dirty Rats.......the ones I was gifted.IMHO they were not worth MSRP.Now before anyone calls me a tightazz.......I buy Opus and ESG's with some regularity. The difference here is they're worth the coin.

Agree completely. By "floor sweepings," I presume you're referring to Papas Fritas. In my mind, they are "not too bad," which is damning by faint praise. Certainly not worth the price.

HMMMM...I got to smoke one of these fresh rolled by Willy Herrera in person at a recent D.E. event and found it to be the most best cigar of the evening.

Nice medium bodied smoke with a VSU of about 8.5 (BWAHAHAHAHA) and some nice balanced flavors. Burn was straight as an arrow from beginning to end.

I like LP9's alot. T52's almost as much. Early released Rats were AMAZING.

No DE high dollar is worth it to me but when in the mood I really love em.

Ron try a Cuenco Y Blanco.

I smoked a Papas Fritas this evening. Or, I should say, I tried to. Snuffed it half way through. Hot, harsh and unbalanced. My throat was burning. As Gertrude Stein said, "there's no 'there' there". After I killed it, I took the bad taste away with an Oliva V Melanio. Much better.

I've had some bad experience with Papas Fritas also. In the two that I've cut to smoke there has been some weird stuff in the head. Actually rolled into it. I made a thread here about it the first time. Second time I emailed JD directly and got no response. Looks like I'll just stick to the normal LP line.

Grabbed a sampler of all 5 vitolas. Didn't care for the Lonsdale and many reviews suggest this vitola is the lesser of the 5. IMHO it was flat, one-dimensional, and not very flavorful - just tobacco. The Toro is supposed to be much better, and I'm hoping the Belicoso is good. But these will rest for a long while in hopes they develop further. Believe the band design took notes from an old Cuban brand.

Papas Firtas - keep 'em. If they didn't come in a fancy tin with a pigtail cap they wouldn't sell for more than 2-3 bucks. There are a ton of much better smokes at that MSRP price point. Epic fail IMO. Johnny-O's custom rolls are freakin cheaper and better.

I do like the L-40, but they're too hard to find and too damn expensive. Not many DE's in my humis that's for sure.

Ill get a 9 & 52 about twice a year from the B&M I like the 52 better I guess. Robustos mostly. Never really wowed me to buy boxes. The unicos don't live up to the 9s or 52s too me, just not as good. Haven't tried the uf13 new batch, but most of the others have been a let down.

I'd take a PAM or a tat reserva over any LP.
