Just another gimmick, but I bet you'll have thousands jumping on them. I wonder if these will be prone to plugging?

Personally, I'm waiting for the "octo-press" Mark Twains.

Don't you plebes know anything?

In two dimensional Euclidean space, Joseph Louis Lagrange proved in 1773 that the lattice arrangement of circles with the highest density is the hexagonal packing arrangement, in which the centres of the circles are arranged in a hexagonal lattice (staggered rows, like a honeycomb), and each circle is surrounded by 6 other circles. The density of this arrangement is

100 * [pi / (2* sqrt(3))] ~ 90.69 %

Axel Thue provided the first proof that this was optimal in 1890, showing that the hexagonal lattice is the densest of all possible circle packings, both regular and irregular. However, his proof was considered by some to be incomplete. The first rigorous proof is attributed to László Fejes Tóth in 1940.

So I guess asking if anyone's interested in a box split for equal valued non-5Vs on this thread won't bear much fruit?

I'd give up the Cask Strength and 1 of each of the others, and ya'll know my tastes aren't much above convenience store smokes yet (but some fine BOTLs are working on that with bombs to my checkbook's chagrin).

Only Cask Strength I've smoked (Round btw) was a bitter, stem-y mess.

While this may be true when regarding multiple circles, the density of a SINGLE circlie is 100%.

I'm sure Lito was flamed when he first put out the Chisel. And I know AJ was flamed when he put out the Oval. Box pressed figurado = insanity ... until Padron made the 80th, and now we have the Oliva Melanio (awesome stick!) and others. And I remember a lot of people on THIS BOARD mocking the Flying Pig when DE put out the #9 FP. I'll admit I was skeptical of that one as well, but boy was I happy to be proven wrong!

It might be a total gimmick, or it might be awesome! Nobody will know unless it's attempted! Innovation is vital to any industry. This means there will be more strikeouts than home runs, but isn't it worth it?

As for the "hex-press," I have my doubts that it will be a game-changer, but then again I thought the Oval would be a gimmick too, and now I think it's genius. You guys can argue the math of this until you're all speaking German, but the fact is that you won't know how it effects the experience of the tobacco in question until you try it!

I will say that if there are folks at CI who think the "hex-press" is the next big thing, they should have started it out on something other than the 5 Vegas line. Do with with something hotter, like the MoW or Diesel lines instead. Introducing it on the cheap-o line makes this smell like snake oil.

Bingo!

To be taken seriously, this should have been tried on a new blend, by a reputable blender. Hex pressing a line of yard gars, give you, well, hex pressed yard gars. But, as I said before, I bet the CI loyal masses are eating this one up.
