What are your opinions on this cutter? I've read good things about it but not sure if it's true or if it's just the guys that made it trying to make it sound great. I mean I get the concept, but is it as amazing as I hear it is?

I've tried it. Save your money. It's a (crappy) solution in search of a problem.

Well chit, I used it and it only gave me 2 results and they didn't really help my question at all.. Got to try harder I guess. 🤦

since it's a cutter thread, I'm still trying to figure out what the benefits of a V cutter are.

If I get time tomorrow, will go by the B&M and pick up a cheapie, and give it a try.

Even so, would like to know how I'm supposed to determine the benefits.

Out of desperation I have used the small knife I keep in the car to cut into the cap in an X pattern and I have not been disapointed with the results, but I am not a "purist" freak.

Also used a big folder my buddy had on him to cut the binder and wrapper off a torp once and it smoked pretty well too.

I use a V on everything but torps, for me at least less chance to have cap unroll, flake etc.

I've heard someone doing the X cut with a knife before and they swear by it (or at it if something goes wrong). I think I'll try a v-cutter tomorrow and see if that stops the cap from unwrapping.

The V cutter is something I use for long and thick cigars. The cutter creates a V shaped, quarter inch deep notch in the head of the cigar, which allows the bitter tar, oils and residue to collect in the recessed area away from the smoker's tongue and lips. I use it when smoking longer and thicker cigars because they take longer to smoke, so they have a tendency to produce more of the stuff.

Well I did try the V-cutter and it does cut quite a gash, but I see little difference between it and the punch other than it makes a deeper cut sometimes. I may try it again on a big cigar that produces a lot of tar, but the regular cutters have worked well in those few cases.

No-they suck...save your money..I bought one. It broke....It got replaced from the distributor...THAT ONE BROKE...enough said!

the blades are cheap and weak.....I will say that the draw is pretty good...again-cheaply made....also the cap of the cigar always unravels...just saying....

I have a few of these cutters. I love them. I get a ton of smoke without bits of tobacco in my mouth. I did have one break but the company replaced it without question and in a timely manner. The trick is to gently push the cigar into the cutter and don't twist the cigar. Straight in and out one time, only, and it's done. ( my wife's main complaint about me).
