I'm one of the newbies.#-o
Living in SC, the moisture content inside my home is higher than in my wineador even in summer with the A/C running.
I can open the door on the wineador and watch the RH climb on the digital hygrometer. The temp part doesn't respond as fast.
R/h is relative to temperature, so even if the house is comfy, there is still higher moisture content in the air inside my home than in the wineador.
So, I bought one of these

Put it in an empty cigar box and after a while you have a drybox.
Whatever other dessicant you happen to have around should work pretty much the same. But, I didn't have anything not in use, and the ones I have need to be dried out to refresh.
This seemed pretty simple to recharge ( dry out ), just plug it in for a bit.
For now, I plan to simply store the unit in the cigar box I am using for a drybox. Uncertain as to whether I can get it too dry - but should work for now.
When the heat starts cycling - shouldn't be an issue. Moisture content in the house will drop.
All of this to open the box and smoke the cigar in the same conditions you've been avoiding through the entire process?
It's all kind of silly to me. Sometimes, we tend to overthink cigars.
My advice... Select a nice ideally humidified cigar from your humidor, fire it up, and enjoy!🇨🇮
