Hey ya'll in cigarbid land!

Just wanted to share my recent experience with you...

I regularly frequent a local hobby shop in my area and got into a cigar discussion with the guy behind the counter. He mentioned that he loved CC's and enjoyed them regularly.

Being new to cigars and not really privy to the knowledge of the ancients in aquiring these gems (besides OLH, which I have yet to purchase from) I inquired if there may be a few around. Much to my surprise he asked if I wanted to try one, and proceeded to pull a Cohiba with the words "Habana, Cuba" on the orange colored band. It hadn't been stored properly and had a few cracks in it, so into the tupperware humidor it went for about four days before I couldn't resist any more....

Once I figured out about the location of the tears and how to hold it so it would actually smoke, I think it was the most enjoyable cigar I have smoked yet. I really got a lot of flavor, that I hadn't experienced from any other smokes yet. It was very creamy and nutty and an overall thoroughly enjoyable smoking experience, once I got past the tears and got the thing smoking lol.

Anywho, I was wondering if anyone else is familiar with this smoke and can shed some light on it, as well as help me find something similar that is available domestically.

Thanks!

There's a lot of cohibas Elliot. Go to CUBANCIGARWEBSITE.com, it's an online dictionary of them and find your Vitola.

It was a standard band D, but not sure of the size as I didn't measure it before smoking 🙂. Thinking it was a Siglo III long corona or an esplendidos, but not really sure...will have to keep digging. One things for sure, with the prices I have been seeing online for these, I will def be asking the guy at the hobby shop for the hook up.

Good for you! I'm still waiting to try one! I was up in Canada, and the prices they were selling them for were prohibitive, so I passed! One Day!

Anything that CI or C-Bid states as being Cubanesque should fit the bill.

No, it was real. The hobby guy pulled it from one of those glass top boxes, and it said "Havana" on the band.

Ya, a counterfeit wouldn't have anything like that on it - it would say counterfeit somewhere wouldn't it? They just don't try and copy the original do they - uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................ never mind......................and a real one wouldn't say Habana - it would definitely say Havana,#-o 🤦 🤦 🤦

Really.....any recommendations from those that have had legit CC Cohibas?

Haha, balls = busted. The hobby shop I go to is more of a specialty gardening supply shop, and I have a pretty good relationship with the owner and employees....that being said it came from the back office and I didn't see what it came out of, but they did tell me some local cubans are some of their best customers and passed them along as a gift. Legit or not I don't know but I was surely pleases. I also tried to psyche myself out of the CC hype before I smoked it and expected to be let down, but honestly wasn't....As I have said many times I am still new to cigars, but have smoked a few of the better regarded brands such as fuente, padron, kristoff, macanudo, etc and this surpassed them all...
