I haven't been moved to post anything on this forum for quite awhile but I just picked up a couple of 5'ers of the robustos and these did it.

I've been smoking Ernesto's stuff for many years and have been happily continuing to since he left his creation - El Credito. The man is one of the true masters. I fell in love with the La Gloria Cubana Wavells and Corona Gorda (especially, in that marca although I never found a vitola I didn't like) as well as those kick-ass El Rico Habanos coronas, definitely cigars that molded my current palate. The previous versions of the various Short Runs and such I've tried have been good at worst, mostly great. This Short Run Cubra version might be my favorite thing he's done in awhile.

The wrapper is velvety smooth, the burn is perfect, same with the draw...typical EPC product. Medium-full to full bodied, creamy, rich and smooth with a bit of a kick. This cigar combines, for me, what I love about both the LGC and El Ricos as well as capturing that elusive quality that I experience with good Cuban tobacco. Savory and sweet at once. Umami in a cigar. All I can add is I wish I had more and will pursue them like Hemingway after a marlin.

That's my opinion and I'm stickin' with it.

He puts out a good product, but I was very disappointed with the Inch series. Other than them, I like all his cigars.

I have found the Cubras to be mostly good with an excellent one here and there. Nothing beats his 2010 Short Runs for me but these are not a bad smoke to prolong my last stash of the O R's .

I keep smoking these and they just keep hitting my sweet spot. Typical EC consistency.

mj - the Inch Series is the only thing I've avoided in his new stable simply because I don't usually care much for giant ring gauge stuff.

frankj - hey, bro. happy to say business is picking up a bit these days, thanks for asking. i haven't paid myself back yet but i recently signed the lease for my third year so I'm still at it. i have to admit i've fallen in love with working for myself. it's still tough but i finally enjoy going to work every day.
