you may have come to the wrong place

I didn't know they were segregating the disabled vets into one place -- kinda like a reservation, huh?

OK........
here's the rub.......
what you consider a fortune is subjective....
what you consider a dog rocket is subjective......

Through persistent, patient, strategic bidding, you can score good cigars at great prices (my opinion).
Learn how to bid (get in early, bubble bidding, etc.)
Learn where to shop, (here, there, and everywhere) when to shop, and who has what.

Most people here know I'm a cheap azz........
I got back into cigars 3+ years ago after a loooooong break............I quit before "Internet" cigars were available.
(I buy 98+% of my cigars online.....I have to.........California suqs with respect to tobacco......and other things.)

Since my return to the hobby, I have paid more than $5 for a cigar only twice.
I can't afford $10 cigars.....plain and simple.
Here's a list of some of the cigars I've been able to get, and the price per unit, in the last few months.

Perdomo 10th Anni. Maduro Robusto - $2.40
Camacho Corojo Monarca - $2.00
E.P. Carrillo Encantos Natural - $1.50
E.P. Carrillo Encantos Maduro - $1.50
Camacho Triple Maduro 50/4.5 - $2.00 to $3.40
Oliva MB III Churchill -$3.00
Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Consul - $1.70
Diesel Shorty -$2.00
San Cristobal Robusto - $4.00
Ramon Bueso Genesis Robusto - $2.00
Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro - $2.30
Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Roth. - $2.20

No, these aren't high end cigars by any means.......but, imho, they're not dog rockets either.
I'm very happy to smoke these cigars at these prices.
Go get some!

onetoomany, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and answer accordingly here. Your question is a difficult one to answer as no one really knows your tastes as well as you do. Truth be told, I don't know of any place where you are guaranteed to get the best smokes for pennies on the dollar. Are there values to be found out there? Sure! The very site your posting on, can provide some pretty good deals, you just have to be patient and know your limits on any bid. Same can be said of just about anywhere on the net. As far as "good cigars" with low price points, no one wants to give away secrets(as the deals would then go a way too), but check the what ya smoking thread(people post in their all the time, not just on special cigars). Do a search for value cigars as well. (though you will see many of them don't end well. . . )

As for me, since I have a budget, I chose to smoke fewer cigars, but smoke only those that I really like. I may spend more per cigar, but I smoke for enjoyment, not quantity.

Good luck!

My cousin is a broke azz. Always has a story about why he can't afford this or that.

I'm always bidding on a $15 bundle of sticks for him, cuz I know he'll come bummin'. He always does.

"Hey man, you have some smokes you'd be willing to let go for like 5 bucks?"

My other cousin laughs. "I wouldn't let him lick your effin' ash tray for 5 bucks!"

He shows up with a 5 dollar bill and I send him away with 5 or 6 Trinidad y Cia's. He's happy.

^^ nice.

To answer, kotc had it right. be patient and set limits for yourself on bids. You can score some very nice smokes for not so much scratch
If you don't get varied away and walk away when needed

Just scored abox of cyb lonsdales for under 3per stick. Locals here charge 8+, so imo a great deal.

Sincerest thanks for your service and sacrifice in defense of our nation.

I would recommend keeping an eye on auctions for 5 Vegas Classics and the Onyx Reserve line. The Oliva G is inexpensive as well. Also, if you want a premium cigar on the cheap, keep an eye out for Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds. I try to keep my humi stocked with the 1992 Vintage, which is darker and richer flavored than its 1990 counterpart. These fine sticks are "seconds" because they didn't pass quality control. Based on my experience, in most cases it's attributable to a wrapper leaf having a slight hue of green. They're still delicious. Trust me.

Good luck man.

12mne: Good advice from kotc and zoilo. Good cigars can be found at various cigar auction sites on-line including this one. The rules of this forum prohibit me from naming them, but google "cigar auction sites" and the prominent ones will be listed.

Right now, there are close-outs on the Camacho lines all over the place. Look around and you can find the Camacho Corojo, SLR and Coyolar for less than $3 a cigar if you buy a box or bundle. IMHO these are consistent, well made and good tasting cigars. To save on shipping costs, buy multiple items at once, rather than one or two things multiple times.

A personal inexpensive fave is the original LaHerencia Cubana. Very decent smoke. If you get the lonsdales, you can cut them in half. 2 for 1!!

..and yes...I'm serious.
