far from an elitist. if im to spend 3 to 7 on cigars its a 5er, so i guess i should have been more clear with my original post. i was just curious as to what people smoke on a daily basis that will not break the bank. im not sure how im playing with fire but if asking questions to make my spending more efficient, then so be it.

Heh!.......thought you meant per cigar
a good buy (for here) is the LHC Oscuro Fuerte Toro, or Robusto, and other vitolas
they can quite often be had for $1/ea..............and all day long for $2/ea...
Fivers can be had for $7......and almost always for $9
I won a box of 20 here for $31...
put them away for a long rest = solid cigar....especially for a buck...........but ya have to like high nic sticks

Try some seconds. The man o war ruination 2nds are good. I also got a bundle of aj overruns.that turned out to be oval robustos. If you like rocky patel, his edge 2nds are good too. The cuba libre one is another good cheapo you can get on here all the time.

Boo-Frickety-Hoo…if you cannot afford to smoke cigars…too bad.

I can't afford driving a Lamborghini! You don't see me crying about how the rest of you do and where you bought one on the cheap and how I need one of you to give me yours because I really deserve it.

Been here for so long that I can "smell" the pattern. It's been played before. The "I'm a good guy…my buddy is down on his luck" sad tale. Gimmie gimmie and then they split.

Life sucks. Wear a helmet - Denis Leary

The poster gets sympathy…many reach in their collection to cheer someone up only to be taken advantage. They disappear after they get what they want. Instead of using the site to enhance their knowledge…using the Search button is the 1st f'n step! There's very few topics that haven't been covered here!…Instead of finding their own footing they want to bust in like they own the place with their mooch buddies in tow proclaiming how "good" they are and how deserving they are and it's all going to a good cause. Maybe. Who knows. It's like defining "Beauty" to me.

For those that stick around…they're rewarded with real friends that will last a lifetime. A friend that will be there in times of gladness and in sadness. This community means more to me than some cigar grab. If your mooching friend…and YOU brought him here…is wanting knowledge…why aren't YOU giving it to him? This community is as good as it's members and behaving the way YOU are…telling others to dig deep and give…even after YOU let this great guy take take take from you…we don't operate like that. You might get some peeled off to give you free stuff, but this site isn't about getting free stuff. Can't deal with it? Too bad. Take the game somewhere else…it's been played out here.

Laughed my ass off when Numi called the good doctor 'eloquent' recently.....however....I did read the above and I have to admit that it is.....maybe not eloquent, but a good summation for many who have been here a while and seen the play before. I returned to forum a dozen times without posting....but it's been tempting. I had exact same reaction to OP as soon as I read it.

Get off my lawn. Did you hear me? I said get off my lawn now.

If you have to make a claim that you and your buddy are such great peoples…you're not.

Others can see the forest for the trees. They're quite capable of making their own judgement. Thanks for removing ALL doubt for me though!

Thank you. Your opinion has been filed with the committee for approval.

Consider what you're typing for a second. You are implying that a war vet that served his country with boots on foreign soil is coming on here just too mooch smokes? Sounds anti american to me.

Please tell me why you're such a "great" person LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL you're a clown man, youre the self proclaimed troll of cbid. Congrats 😂

Ok, I've started to jump in at least 10 time and erased my post not wanting to be "that guy".

While I thank your friend for being a true american hero and serving our great country, I'm not sure how I see that it is relevant to the conversation. He could have searched for threads on the subject(I did after this was initially posted and even bumped a couple of them)

He could have just asked for advice on value priced cigars(plenty before him have, but you know every time its asked a couple of new suggestions do pop up, so its not all that bad).

But you see, when he starts with the part about being a vet and being disabled and having limited income(I really hate the way I'm going to come off here) it sounds a little put on. It comes across to many of us here, who have seen lots come and go, as being aimed at drawing sympathy. And you see, drawing sympathy is one of the discrete tactics people use to mooch. That may not have been your friends intent, but it very much reads like that of many we have seen come before you.

Quite honestly, this is why there is a fair amount of hazing in the community. There are truly a great group of guys here, but they are somewhat protective and have been soured by people before. Is it fair to new guys that may be really good people, with really great intentions? NO, but it is a defense mechanism, and it does help.

Some even come in thinking they can "buy" their way into the group. They get active in trades, over send on their ends, then in a few months are looking for "retribution" or looking for some "help" to get through a rough time. All the while they were playing the long con and not really interested in the great friends they could develop here.

Just my $0.02, YMMV

Consider me the anti-troll of CBid. YOU are the troll. I hold up the mirror. You don't like it.

Boo-Frickety-Hoo!

As for your anti-American wannabe rant? Shove it up your butt. Most of us have served this nation…some when she called for it, some offered on their own freewill. What happens when we're defending the Constitution of the United States of America during our service is what happens. Nobody but you is out there proclaiming more about the matter.

illi i just kind of wanted to give a little bit of background info on myself, not looking for pity points. and i did search afew things before posting but had problems with the seaech engine. i figured the next beat thing is to ask people that have experienced many types of cigars, what there reccomendations would be. i actually got alot of good replies and have found some good sticks(according to some of the posts here) at great prices. so i do thank all of you for the great posts and to the others, you are reading to deep into what i said. thanks
