Guys, I'm headed to Toronto in a few days and I'm clueless when it comes to Cuban cigars. My current non-cuban favorites are Padron 3000 (M), El Rey Del Mundo Robusto Larga (M) and FDO Grand Cameroon. Based on my current favorites, can you guys please suggest some Cuban's that I would like? Thanks, Ken

Depends on what you want to spend. IMHO, best values are the hand rolled coronas and lonsdales. LGC, R&Js, and ERDMs are good values.

If you want to splurge a bit, Robinas, Partagas SDs, and HDMs are a nice treat.

If the Bolivers and Sancho Panzas look like they are in good shape, then snatch a few. The belis are very nice.

But remember, expect to age them a bit.

Otherwise, I like the Monte Robusto's, R&J Churchills, and Cohiba Robusto's. Really enjoyed these Habanos. I should've bought some Cristobal's and Cuaba's, but overspend (as per wife) limit, and ran out of time. Enjoy your trip!

No matter what you like in a non-Cuban, you will like the Partagas Serie D No 4. If you like a strong stick, get a Bolivar Belicoso Fino (the Cabinet version if possible) or a Bolivar Corona Gigantes or Churchill tubo). The Juan Lopez Sel No 2 is a lesser known but kick butt smoke. Monte No 2 is a classic.

In my humble opinion, I would suggest to you to try a Diplomaticos. You won't find another version of them, and they are really good. Inexpensive, but very tasty.

Ditto on the Diplimaticos. I picked up about 4 torps last November in Paris. I finally tried one about a week ago. Now, I am darned pi$$ed that I did notg get a box. They were not as expensive as the Monty #2s, but were just as full bodied and tasty. Good advice.

Not expensive? Ha! I guess not where Adroomi lives. Ditto on the Diplomaticos. That and a Sancho Panza Belicoso are two of the best cigars I've ever had.

The Sancho Panza Beli's are very good. I hadn't had one, until last week when I sent one to Mr. Mean. I decided to pick up the box after trying one. In regards to the Diplomaticos, I'm thoroughly impressed with them. The San Cristobal El Morre (double corona sized), is another good smoke.

Stop tempting me! that Sancho Panza Beli showed up and has been talking non-stop. Smoke me, smoke me, smoke me. Why am I running around the house screaming "shutup! you just got here!"

Even the Sancho Panza Bachileros is a good choice for a smaller smoke and I always enjoy the RJ #2's.

Toronto?...Be ready for sticker shock when you see a single Cohiba Robusto for $40 US...Canada has unbelievably high "sin taxes" on tobacco..I'd recommend going to a duty free shop and pick up a five pack box of either Jose Piedras ($8 for five cigars) or a box of Reas Candelas (around the same price)..Have a good time!...Last time I was in Toronto (three years ago) I picked up Jose Piedras and you can't go wrong..Decent cuban tobacco...Not spectacular, but very enjoyable!

Ken=Rookie is right. Canada taxes are a real kick in the a$$. You will pay a lot for cigars there. Remember though to shop at the LCDH! There’s nothing worse than paying a lot of money for something, then getting screwed as an added bonus!

I bought and smoked a couple Habana Bolivar Beliscos last October during a cruise. The quality was still good then. I was given an H. Upmann corona by another smoker on the cruise. I was pretty drunk. But I remember it being pretty tasty as well.
