Ladies and Gents,

I was wondering how I should store my cigars in my humidore. More specifically, is it better to take off the plastic wrapper around each stick?

Thanks in advance!

the plastic part is all user opinions..some keep them on most take them off..i prefer to take them off before placing in my humi..it helps the stick age better and marry with the humidors conditions faster and easier..

I take them off every night before I go to bed and put them back on in the morning---works great.

I would keep the plastic wrap on as a precaution and for health reasons.....it's called Safe Herfing...unless the fellow herfers were tested already!

THis question with the true first post.

I suppose its possible this is a true new guy just asking a question, but I have my doubts. . .

Just in case,

New guy, welcome to the forums. You might have surmised by the response, but this is a question that has been addressed many times on this forum, and while it would be great if there were some "sticky posts" at the top of the forum to help ward off some of these, unfortunately, the stickies don't stick here(no I'm not kidding. . .) But alas new guys want to know things like this and its so much easier to come here and ask a question than do a simple google search. . .

But anyway, I digress. Its really a matter of choice. The "plastic" is really cellophane and does breath, so the cigars will age(though some will claim not as well) with it on, and it does protect the cigar form damage when rustling through the humidor. Some though like the look of the naked cigars and do feel they age better.

Welcome to CBID.

cello on does have advantages....
in many instances, it has slowed/limited beetle infestation...
in many instances, it has slowed/limited the spread of mold....

for the handful of of you who rummage through your humi when you're drunk..................did I say handful?....................I meant to say, most of you azzhats............the cello helps protect the head/foot of the cigar while you're stupidly ravaging through your humi looking for the Padron that Knokmdwn gifted you..........

Phffft..................that's what you come back with? That's all YOU got? The "plastic wrapper"...No 1 - is not plastic. No 2 - it's not the "wrapper" on a cigar. The "wrapper" is the outside layer of tobacco that you get 70% of the flavor from when smoking a cigar. The so called "plastic" is not plastic, it's a wood product that is moisture and temperature soluable.

Always remember one thing...............

It's better to be thought a noob than to spout off and remove all doubt. ;^)

Thanks for all the opinions guys! I am truly a new guy and while looking on google is what I do for 99% of things, I figured this was an easy way to "slip" into the forum. ;)
