What's your opinion of these? Local b&m had an event last fall and I missed it, but wanted to try them. Forgot the name, but vaguely remembered the label. Won a box of Oliva serie o a few weeks ago but realized that wasn't it.

Finally picked up a sampler of these and the first one is pretty good but not excellent, but its only been in my humi a week. Got three varieties of the Origen, started with the light colored band. Might just be a bit milder than I prefer, but smooth and changing flavors through the stick. Still a decent smoke but not my favorite.

Give out as mooch stick or needs some time?

ETA: I did smoke this one outdoors in cold/breezy while grilling, so that may have impacted the experience.

Just smoked a robusto (the original, cream-colored band) - funny you posted this right now!

This was one of two purchased over 6 months ago. This one, unfortunately, had a rather tight draw, which I've never experienced with a J Fuego product before.

The first third was creamy with a lot of stonefruit notes and a little typical corojo spice in the background.

2nd third the creamy became buttery, stonefruit disappeared and was replaced by wood and spice typical of many corojos.

The last third was a cacophony of bread, spice, wood, and pepper. The creamy/buttery note moved to the finish and coated my mouth with an almost-minty feel.

Beginning as a strong medium, this stick ended full (at least for me - I don't cotton to heavily-ligero-ed sticks such as LFD Double Ligero, Fausto, Litto Gomez, or MOW so YMMV).

All in all, not bad, but nothing outstanding with the exception of the persistent, pronounced creaminess. The cheroots of this line, I think, are much better.

I would love to try the Sangre del Toro as it is Criollo-heavy and I am a huge Criollo nut.

Wow, thanks for the thorough review!

I noticed some flavor changes but I didn't make it far enough to move/remove the band as the burgers were done and despite moving them to the cold side and closing the vents, they were getting crispy.

Maybe after the wife goes to bed I'll head out to the garage and sit down for one.

Blend only works in the 'Original' size. In that little perfecto, it works great. The rest are not very good.

Lit another from the sampler (got 6 of each) the corojo oscuro. Really enjoyed this one, and it seems to be the cheapest of the bunch. Cant say I identify any specific flavors I like from it, may even be a bit flat in that regard.

But after a plague of hard draws and low smoke output on many of the cigars I've been smoking recently, this one is excellent.

I dunno if its just my noob naivety or if its a preference that will stay, but a good mouthful of cool non-bitter smoke on an easy draw seems to add more to the experience than anything else I'm able to identify.

Could possibly be because I changed my humidor setups recently. I have my huge hybrid humi and a small quality desktop humidor. I kept B&M cigars in my desktop and everything else in my hybrid humi. Both had 70% beads.

Given that my hybrid humi is basically a glorified coolerdor, it held a solid 70% while my desktop with 70% beads was usually around 68%

Upon recommendations here and elsewhere, I switched out the beads in my hybrid and desktop for 65's. The desktop sits around 63 now and my hybrid at 65.

I just got a big order from cbid. I've got about 50 cigars now. Decided to change my setup and put ready-to-smoke in my desktop and "stock" in my hybrid humi. I pulled the cello off one from every lot in my hybrid and moved the unwrapped to my desktop to aide in acclimation as I've heard they ship a bit wet.

This is the first cigar I've lit since the move. Maybe its the drier conditions, maybe not (only sat there for 30 hours), but I really enjoy smoking this one.

Actually smoked it almost to a nub, about 1.5" left on this one before I couldn't draw without the heat.

Enjoy and be thankful you've found that bargain cigar that does it for you, just remember that your tastes will change so don't go stocking up to much else you may end up with a bunch of sticks you're not partial to down the road.

I'm learning this quickly. The sticks that blew me away even a month or two ago, upon revisiting, are meh at best. Unfortunately this last shipment from cbid is made up almost exclusively of sticks I wrote down as "buy again" Maybe with a little bit of time on them they will improve but I've been underwhelmed with several repeats based off my initial experience.

Big Order and now you have 50---I don't think I've had a shipment of less than 80 in a few years. I remember the good old days when I just had the crappy 50 count humidor.

Tastes do change tho, and a Stick I like a couple of years ago doesn't do anything for me know, but another stick that I used as a yard gar a couple of years ago now tastes pretty damn good. Hell, a stick I liked last month and just replenished has lost it's appeal now.

Smoked an Origen Robusto. I have a sampler (6 smokes) heating up. This isn't a review - just some observations and based on only one cigar.

I liked the old Casa Fuegos which when aged correctly had a nice Cubanesque flavor. They were also pretty well made.

My Origen was very rough and not well constructed - like a fatter, round Munniemaker. Wrapper was heavily veined. Cap cut poorly so I was fighting the flag all the way down (it was not (normally) excessively clipped). It was firmer in the middle than either end. Foot leaf was a bit ragged.

Draw was open but not a lot of smoke. Flavors at first were reminiscent of the old Casa Fuego with cinnamon but they became less distinct and vague. I rarely let any stick go before an inch, let alone 1/2 that abut this one was dumped with 2" left (and it was a robusto) because I'd have preferred the Munniemaker.

A poor first impression and I won't consider any more until after I try an aged one from the sampler, but I need to smoke it when I'm in a generous mood.
