I picked these up this week,
to smoke on my shorter runs, when I just don't have time for a longer smoke. I had only had the Partagas, and the H.Upmann, so I bought the Punch, and HdM blind. As you can see, I have already smoked one of the Punch. The Punch is AME OCT 12, and smoked well, for such a young cigar. Glad I bought them. HdM is next.

I love tubos for work. Especially now that I never know what truck I am driving, I cant keep a travel humi in the truck. Yep, I really like the Hoyo coronations, as well as the Punch coronations. Especially for the price. The Partagas Corona Seniors, and the H.Upmann Coronas Major are two of my all time favorite cheap smokes, as well.

Nothing wrong with smaller smokes or some of the machine made CC's. They can sometimes be the find of the century and a great value as well. I always liked most of the Belvederes (Party, Bolivar, Upmann, etc....) All good Machine Made CC's that were cheep.

Where would a guy find machine made CC's?

Unfortunately most of the machine made long filler CC's have been discontinued between 2002 and 2005. You can still find some retailers (B&M &/or online) that have some of the NOS on hand as they were generally not snatched up as soon as they hit the market. Most of these cigars were marketed and sold in Europe (particularly in Spain.)

I was turned on to these by a friend and well aged boxes were generally much easier and less expensive than their handmade counterparts. I found them to be every bit as good as the similarly sized handmade versions. For awhile Cuba would make the same cigar in handmade and machine made versions. Sometimes the machine made versions were hand finished and you couldn't (at least I couldn't) tell the difference between the MM and HM versions of the same age. There is a lot more info out there but I actually have to do some work today or I could try to remember more of this history of CC's.

Try a Google search and see what you can find. I'm pretty sure that they're still out there.

You could save the tubes and put those little Padrons in there.. They smoke well..
