Got these in the mail today. BTW, not much has been seen on the forum regarding Rocky Patel cigars. Do most of you folks consider them to be dog turds?

I like several of the Rocky Patels. Just had another Cargo tonight.

I can't really tell what those are in your photo though.

Patel is a POS.

His stuff used to all be pretty good with a few gems, now? Not so much.

Just like other companies, the expansion has hurt the brand IMO. However, a few are still good smokes.

Decade is about the only RP I really enjoyed. Didn't care for any the edges I had. Also thought the Olde world or whatever that one is called was an airball. I think there might be a couple I thought were ok I am forgetting though.

The 92 and the 90 used to be favorite go-to cigars of mine, I see nothing wrong with those at all. If I recall the original release of the 90/92s were maroon bands, they have now moved to black bands. I have not had the black banded versions, so I can't say anything about those. I also used to really enjoy the Old World Reserve maduro, but I've had those in the past year and they didn't seem as good as they used to.

Met Patel at a cigar event in WI many years ago, seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

The only RP that I have ever found to be good for me was the olde world reseve criollo lanceros.

Smoke what you like. I liked RP cigars got swayed by others after he pulled cigars from Cbid people got pissed at him. The only problem I ever had one plugged edge. 92,90, Edge, Ocean Club, Decade solid smokes IMO.

Thanks guys. Good to hear some nice things about RP. This was a major upgrade after thinking some other brands were good. The seconds (1992) available here are pretty good imo.

Rockeesh advertised the 1990 and 1992 as "8 year old wrapper leaf discovered forgotten in a warehouse" back when they were 1st released many years ago. Seems they had a really large supply as they have sold millions by now. 🤦

They were pretty good for a short time.

I've personally only ever had the OWR Maduro Toro. All 5 tunneled and/or continually went out. Haven't tried any others since.

To me they start off good and just fade away to nothing.Pretty much opposite of how I like them.

I got a mazo 15 of the 90 vintage. Looks like yours there to the right. I have handed out a couple and smoked a few. I had an issue with one where I had to toss it half way. I think it was over packed. When I first started buying I thought I'd smoke a couple everyday. That has turned out to be way above my current reality. So now, I back away from these cause I'm scared I'll waste my precious cigar time. I have grown quickly intolerant of a cigar that requires work. Same reason I'm not big into certain foods that I have to work for a small amount of food. Or a tough steak. You get the point
