By the end of the night, 8 of them had come back and brought a cigar, and just said "let me know what you think of it" Added all of them on facebook (at least those that I didn't already have on there) and gave them a review of the cigars they gave. There's more of us out there than I expected. When I lit up I expected a lot of anti-smoking comments (bigtime hipster party, one of the sponsors was Chicago's Vapecity) but surprisingly enough I only had one person complain. I was serving free beer from the three kegs we donated to the party, and when he complained and said "do you really need to be smoking that while serving our beer" I corrected him and said "It's my beer, you're welcome, and yes."

I've been surprised at how many people are interested in cigars, even those that don't smoke.

Last Friday I was out smoking a cigar and some friends were out there smoking their cigarettes. A guy I didn't recognize walked by and went in and grabbed a beer. He came back out and sat at the next table on the patio and just kinda observed from over there. After a few minutes people finished their cigarettes and went back inside. The new guy stands up and walks over.. "Hey, what cigar you smokin' there?" I think it was that Torano Colosseum. Anyway, I asked him if wanted a cigar and he said he'd love one. So, he grabbed a J. Fuego Origen from the traveldor and sat down and lit up.

He's retired army. Spent some time in Afghanistan and lots of other places. He said one thing that he really enjoyed over there was getting cigars from the states and smoking 'em to pass the time. He hadn't heard of OpFTH, so not sure who his came from. After a while he lit up another and I lit up another and we started telling stories about the past.

It's good to have another cigar smoker around.
