I am so excited I got all teared up this afternoon.

Lost my best buddy close to two years ago now. Thought about getting another pup but with work , my kids are gone now, I didn't think it would be fair to a little pup to be at home all day by himself.

Well, as some of you may know, I have lots of spare time now and will likely for the foreseeable future.

So, I am getting a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver. The litter was born 9/1. I have picked out a male.We will bring him home in about 5 weeks,,,

His name will be Sailor...

Leave the boys on! Until he's about 2 or 3... when he gets all aggressive... then either let him screw, or cut 'em off.

(let him screw... otherwise you'll be a f***ing hypocrite)

Great for ya Wheel.

No dogs for us for a while, away for long hours and we kinda like not having to get home to let 'em out or feed them.

Sure miss walking my dog though. Great therapy.

Make sure you post his picture!

They look great but these dogs have one of the shorter lifespans so enjoy him as much as you can, they are very fun..

I told my wife the next dog we get will be my sons... I never was taught responsibility growing up, and I figure maybe caring for a dog will be a good way to teach him the lesson I didn't get... I figure by the time he's two he'll be old enough to ask if we can have a dog and I'll say we sure can, let's go pick one out while your mom is at work...

Good luck. It will be a lot more work than keeping the wife happy.

Hope Pedro's up to it for the next dozen+ years.

Let's also hope it's a good retriever for the bird hunts. Hate the image of a gimp midget trying to make his way through the marsh to gather a bird after the hunt.

Best wishes with the training.

Congrats on the new pup. I guess the old dog gets to teach the new dog some tricks. 🤣
