My son had a BMW that my wife totaled a few months ago. I replaced the rotors on that car with OEM rotors. They were warped out of the box as well. I had them cut before I installed them though as this was after the experience I had with the SUV last time.
It's all about the manufacturing process. It seems rotor manufacturers are not truing the rotors on lathes anymore. By the looks of the tooling marks on the rotor faces the are either being belt sanded or abrasive wheel ground. Either way, they are not perfectly flat as they once were.
The Germans do make a great motor, transmission and suspension. But they have this eerie fascination with plastic. Look under the hood. Plastic everywhere. Expect a BMW water pump to fail somewhere between 60 & 80 thousand miles. The reason, the plastic impeller shears from the pump shaft. Also, around 80K expect the fabric on the roof struts and the headliner to start to come loose The radios are also known to be problematic.
Before you say it, I'm not someone that keeps a car 3-4 years. I like to drive them note free for a few years.
