Firearms open in less than a month in Georgia.

Anyone hunting yet? I'm getting the itch and can't wait.

Our firearms season in GA is Oct. 20th to Jan. 1st.

Muzzle & Archery season opened 5 days ago, but I don't shoot primative weapons.

Really excited about this season. My hunt-club just added 20 additional acres to their compound.

I'm all out of extra vaction days, so I doubt I'll be doing any WMA or National Forest hunts.

GA has a long season. Ours is Dec 3 to Dec 14th. Then an antler less only season for a couple days starting Jan 1.

What is a hunt club?

A friend of mine hunts in MN and I think their season is only 2 weeks.

A hunt club in GA is typically people who get together & lease land to hunt. In our case I've known this family 30+ years, and the four of us are the only ones who hunt their 60 acres & as a joke we decided to name our "hunt club" after a play on words I said one day all in fun.

Man I'm dying for some venison now.... Venison medallions with a cranberry sauce. Had it at a really nice 4 star place I've driven past a million times and my wife finally got me to go. Was the first time I've had a real cranberry sauce that wasn't jello from a can. It paired beautifully with the flavor of the venison. Now when someone mentions venison it's the first thing that pops into my head.

I've never hunted deer and always wondered, is there a big difference in flavor between a buck and a doe? I would imagine that meat from a buck is less tender but I don't get a chance to eat venison that often and always wondered.

I only hunt with bow and arrow, knives and rocks.

Chicks dig it.

Im very thankful I dont have to lease ground to hunt. Not that it wont ever change but that would be a huge shock to the way it works now. Hopefully by the time that catches on around here I have my own ground bought to hunt on.

Just had the most wonderful venison tonight in Provo, best I every had.

Can't recall the marinade (Mormons may not drink but I do) with a smear of cranberry reduction.

Really was great.

Don't deer hunt anymore, haven't for years. Miss the north woods and deer camp but the bride won't eat it.....

Our 60 acres is family owned land they've had for 50+ years. We're trying to add into that. Hopefully if things go well the next year.

Duck hunting sounds fun. I'm an old quail & dove hunter from back in the day.

A real cranberry sauce really does make a huge difference. I think this year I'm going to try to find a recipe for a cranberry sauce or reduction and make it for Thanksgiving. I wanna see how much of a difference it makes paired with the Turkey compared to that crap in a can my wife insists on buying every year.

Real cranberry w/ deer sounds delicious, although I do like the canned "jelly" w/ turkey. Especially the bottom piece that reflects the mold of the tin can. I'm weird like that.
