And, extra special bonus - an expansion on the idea of parasites from feline feces controlling our brain (really interesting reading... may be bogus still, but gaining traction):

'It' is the cat... or we call her 'kitty cat'.. that's her legal name... 😟
Just curious 😟
I like dogs as much as I like cats, to be honest. Maybe even a bit more. But cats are self sufficient and mine doesn't even have a litter box. She has a door to let herself in and out. If I take off for a week, as long as I leave food and water out, no harm. Can't do that with a dog. And for dog owners... scoopin' poop is a horrible chore.
And I do not own my cat, she suffers my captivity willingly... as I said, she has a cat door and is free to come and go as she pleases. I know for a fact if I stop putting out food, she will eventually not return. I'm not needy, I don't crave her affection and sometimes wish she'd leave me the hell alone.
She's gotta be 14 by now and when she croaks... I ain't gonna be a blubbering fool like some of you dog owners. It's a cat.
That said... cats do have their preferences. Mine thinks she owns ME, and prefers me to everyone else (most days).
Whatever.

How old? When kitty cats are ready to die, they go off somewhere to do it. Not like dogs... who lay there all doe-eyed, making you cry and stuff. 😢

Without seeing the actual data from his experiments, I can't say if he's really seeing a statistically significant effect (although a Stanford researcher said the data and methodology was sound, so there is that)... but the entire idea is fascinating. Especially if you look at the effect the parasite has on mice.
