I say it's pure genus. Create a rabid following by convincing your customers you're different and will never sell out. Then when you reach max capacity and load your company up with debt to expand, sell out and walk away. Sure he is under contract to stay on for a period of time, but he'll eventually leave. Very few entrepreneurs like him stick around a work for the "other guys". At some point they will cite creative differences or something and he'll part ways with a boat load of cash.
