It's that time of year again, and this year the prickly pears were big and fat and juicy, so the jelly is being made right now. As always, the supply is limited to a few batches, and when it's gone, it's gone until next year. What's new this year is that a have a very few (like 6) jars that are Prickly Pear and Red Chile Jelly. Those jars will go fast, and there's no more once those are gone. They're not screaming hot, just very flavorful, but they might get hotter over time - I have no idea, because this is the first time I've made it this way.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, this is my annual jelly "sale" (trade) to benefit OpFTH. For each jar of regular prickly pear jelly that you want, just send me 15 cigars. The red chile prickly pear jelly brings 30 cigars each. I am an OpFTH Agent, and so everything you send goes directly out for the Troops. Please include both your screen name and your actual name, plus the mailing address where you want to receive your jelly in your package. Please contact me about the red chile jelly, because I don't want to sell more than I have made. For those of you who wish to "bomb" someone with jelly, PM or email me and let's set that up ahead of time.

PM me for my current address - if you haven't sent anything in the past 12 or so months, you'll need to get my new mailing address on Smith in Albuquerque. Please do NOT send to the address on Idlewilde Lane, mail will likely be returned. PM me or email ABQBetty at "G" mail and I'll send the current address to you. If you have more money than cigars, but would still like jelly, please PM or email me, and we'll arrange a donation directly to OpFTH and jelly to be shipped to you.

It's that simple - 15 cigars for each jar of totally addictive jelly. Please send only full-size, handmade cigars at that number. If you'd like to send Swisher Sweets or something like that, the Troops will still appreciate them, but we'll need to come up with a fair number for you to donate for jelly, so PM or email me.

Bumper crop down here too. The hill country is dotted with the purple fruit, it's so pretty.

As of this moment, I have only 2 jars of Red Chile & Prickly pear jelly left. Claim them here or PM me.

I also have 3 or 4 jars left of the very mild red chile prickly pear batch. You almost can't taste the chile in these, it's just a hint of spice and rich flavor in the background, not hot at all. I make no guarantees, of course, but this mild version is rumored to be an aphrodisiac. Get some for yourself, or slip some onto the wife's morning toast. Can't hurt. Might help. Get them while they last.

If you'd prefer to make a cash donation to OpFTH for jelly, just PM me and let's work out the details. I'll also take chewing tobacco, dip or snuff for jelly - the Marines love that stuff.

One hot and three mild Red Chile's left - lots of regular Prickly Pear this year.

And I changed my avatar to something that actually looks like me...although I'm not so sure she's a natural blonde, but I am. -B
