Loose roll, very light in the hand, loose draw.

Flavor starts harsh with a woodsy finish. Cigar burns really fast and unevenly. About 1" in, all flavor disappears and it's just pure harshness through the nose. Didn't even make it 1/3 through. Blech.

I bid a buck blindly, thinking there might be a glimmer of truth to CI's description... clearly not the case...

Secretly I think I was hoping I was getting a $12 cigar for a dollar... I miss dpnewell...

I've got around ten or so that I have been able to buy for under $ 2. I had more, but apparently others were willing to pay $ 2 or more for them, so they fell off the list. The way I look at it a buck is not too much to pay for many yard gars, so a dollar cigar is worth a try. I think I bid a buck on a palo prieto, but if I did, I didn't win. Variety is said to be the spice of life, so I'm willing to try different cigars.

Funny how we all got our favs and very few are willing to tip our hand as to exactly what it is.

I got a mazo of my yard gars coming to me, connie wrapper this time. The maduros were tasty 🙂

I have $30.00 sticks and $2.00 sticks in my humidor. USD is not what I base my opinions on when it comes to most things and I am cautious about group think which is equally reliable when determining ones own opinion. On this cigar I have no complaints I,m smoking one now. This cigar could cost twice as much given the name and marketing, it burns great, no draw problems and has all of the attributes some of the more positive reviews have. I have found that consistency is really the factor when it comes to the name brand, which usually coincides with price. I've had about eight of these Palo Prietos and only one did not match the others in its positive attributes.

I love my $1-2 cigars. Most people here bash them which is great because it keeps my costs way down. While some have an issue once in a great while, they're mostly delicious and good cigars.

I have a couple that I might be able to get for $2 still, haven't bid in awhile. I think there are plenty good cigars though in the $2-$4 range to be had.

as for the cigar mentioned, I did try mine and couldn't get to the halfway point... part of me misses the days when I could thoroughly enjoy a crappy cigar...

but those days are gone...

in fact, someone gave me an isla del sol and I smoked it yesterday at the casino... smoked almost all of it, didn't enjoy it at all... might as well have been a white owl...

tatuaje's in general - and especially the capa especial - ruined crappy cigars for me...

it's kinda like bad pot... it was fun when I was just looking to get any kind of head change and didn't care what I felt like an hour later... but then I discovered good pot and realized I'd rather smoke just a little tiny bit of that than a whole bunch of crappy stuff...

Smoking a Flor de Oliva Maduro that my neighbor gave me a few weeks ago. A cheapie, but overall not bad, lots of smoke, easy draw, no burn or construction issues, as "Kwaj" would say.

ya but with a cheap cigar, you're pretty much guaranteed to get what you paid for... the expensive cigars I like are so far and above the inexpensive cigars I like in terms of quality, there really isn't a comparison...
