Perhaps it's just me, but I cannot remotely agree with the description given for these cigars.

Granted, I did not pay much for them, but, when the copy reads, "MISTAKES are tasty, mild-bodied smokes that are buttery smooth with a creamy, enjoyable flavor.", I expect a bit more than just burning tobacco. I'm not entirely certain that tobacco was used to make them.

They burn hot after the first third or so, with no discernible flavor of their own, at all.

The only "Mistake" here was that you actually ordered these.

Tom - this is a huge seller for us as its a bargain cigar. How long did you let it sit in your humidor before you smoked it? It sounds to me like its too dry. Allow it to 'freshen up' in your humidor for a few days to a week and try again. While it may not be in your taste profile, it should be better after a rest.

Like I always say, "if it sucks, send it to my crew." I have taught them a new trick. If they think it sucks, pass em to the crabs. Deep 6 the sticks. Float test them. Leave em to the sharks. I heard hammerheads like Gurkhas. I make sure the crew gets some quality cigars, and I have put in a lot of effort to get them some great ones celebration times, but none of us are afficianados.

Example: Spectre cigars have been pretty universally rated as pure CRAP, but I am picking up a few from people because perhaps there will be a miracle and they will age into merely a lousey cigar, but one day some dirt ball customs jerk will want to help himself to our stash, and we will laugh all the way around the 7 seas when we dump them on some unscrupulous buzzard.

If you got something you want to share, bless you. If you got something you want to ditch, we will put it in the chest of horrors. Arrrgh!
Rember, cigars are like wine, of you like one buy up as many as you can from that batch. There are too many variables to expect batch to batch to be the same.

Its called a mistake for a reason. a cigar using trimmings and leftovers. Dont be fooled, no matter how long you let them rest, no matter what cigar you lay them next to....they are still forever a craptastic cigar. Spend the extra 5 cents a cigar and purchase quality cigars. Lifes to short to buy mistakes, would you buy a car or house thats being advertised as a mistake?

Buy Gurkha second's if you did not like the mistakes. With the expensive high end cigars they sell quality control should be of the highest importance to them. Their seconds should be as good as most other producers cigars that passed inspection.

Never buy cigars called seconds,"mistakes", overruns or fumas. Especially if the cigar is sold for $1.00 or so, it is probably crap, especially if they are sold in bundles of 40 or 50. Cigars that are sold about $2.00 a stick may be good, but the odds are against it. If you read advertising copy that says that some cigar manufacturer has just "found" a load of cigars in his warehouse that he forgot about, don't believe it. The truth is that he probably couldn't sell them because they are crap.The same is true about cigars supposedly made with "real" Cuban tobacco imported before the embargo. I know some people like them but I have found that Puros Indios is largely crap, as well as Perdomo. The only Gurkhas I like are the Shaggy and the Beauty. Those are my views. Yours may differ as taste varies between smokers. 🇨🇮

Although it is good to burn every cigar at least once. A single or 5-Pack only. Never 20 of a questionable smoke, especially one that has the word "MISTAKE" in it's name. As for the description, they want to sell them. That won't happen if they say they are "below average', but still smokeable. Who honestly wants to burn one???

Kombat loves to burn them. He single handedly keeps the mistakes label in business, once he started buying them, mistakes had to hire away torchedors from cuban rejects to meet increased demand. He has cooleradors full of them. The value is just too hard to beat. 🇨🇮
