I'm new to this lifestyle, having taken up the hobby after being introduced by a friend.
Is it wise to go fill your humidor with variety or wiser to go buy singles until you find one
You like and the. Fill the humidor with that? Is variety more desirable when smoking with others?

Does your humidor use Spanish cedar?

Do you store with the cello on or off?

When you get a box do you remove the factory packaging?

Do you 'age' a cigar for less than 6 months?

Send SteveS a cigar and steal Wombat's passes.

Search for the Thonginator.

Fill your humidor with Padron's, Davidoff's, Tat's and Viaje. Then send it to me.

Aloha from Hawaii 👍

Start off with some singles but try not to go hog wild (...you probably will, despite this warning...) as your tastes will change over time. If you find some singles you like, buy a 5-pack to make sure it's what you really like but again, your tastes may change over time and that same cigar will fall out of favor. Variety is the spice of life but keep researching and reading and you'll eventually find your taste wheelhouse (...not to be confused with "Wheelrite").

Welcome!

Do away with you desk top and get a couple of coolers. You will need the additional storage once you have mastered drunk bidding.

Welcome constablewright. Where do you serve to keep things stable?

Don't worry about finding the ONE cigar. Most cigar folks like a variety. The same thing everyday, even though fantastic the first few times, doesn't taste as good after three, four in a row. Get some samplers and five packs. Eventually, you'll find a bunch of cigars that you really, really like, and you keep buying fivers of those. Those are called box-worthy cigars. Save some money and get boxes of them. By now you will be using that humidor just to display a portion of your inventory, or to store lighters, matches, lighter fluid, cutters and pokers, hygrometers and kitty litter.

You will find so many cigars you like and want to keep a few of them on hand, that you'll have several coolers or a large cabinet to store them in. You'll discover that some cigars that were faves a while ago have lost that special something, but you've got half a box left. You'll keep them because your tastes will change and you'll like them again. You'll hang around here and other cigar discussion sites and hear about the new "best" cigar, so you'll buy a few of them. Eventually, you'll think about converting that closet into a walk-in humidor...

In other words.........RUN!!!!

When I decided to go at it full steam ahead to fill up my humidor, I just sat around bidding on pretty much everything I was interested in smoking....

Then when I looked at my bids, I was like, oh chit! I hope I don't win them all!

Then I ended up winning quite a few of them but no where near all of them, and I was like ya! my humidor is half full.

Then I did it again the next week, so ya...

You might want to increase the limit on your credit cards. Also, you may want to consider a bigger humidor.

Just saying.

Oh, don't be too fearful of not liking what you buy, most of what I got is good.

I only got one pile of sticks I really have no intention of smoking... ever, and seeing how this is the trade section...

5 Vegas Classics and La Aurora Barrel Age... not for me, but might be for someone, hit me up if you're interested.
