That one is VERY nice. I like sticking with boxes that are a little more "rustic". If I came across a box that nice, I'd I have put a little extra time/expense into it. The work has to match the box.

Well please post pics of your clock designs and show us how much better you can do it.
The Lat boxes we purposely done to showcase the box designs, and not the clock face. An expensive clock movement was used (which is why it still keeps accurate time over a year later), and the clock face was kept simple with gold dots instead of numbers so the numbers would not interfere with the box graphics.
So show us how it's supposed to be done.

Just an observance here....Don't think it was meant the way you took it Cacman. he was referring to "his" work and that if he had nicer boxes he would do a nicer job as you did. It was a compliment not a put down...JMO 🇨🇮

Are the 'clocks' and 'boxes' metaphors for kitty litter, and cacs love for it?

My apologies if it was meant as a compliment.
I work in the creative industry and any time my boss says "That's nice, but I'd I have put a little extra time/expense into it. The work (design) has to match...." it is not meant as a compliment.
But let's face it, it doesn't take an engineer to drill a 1/4" hole in the center of a box and glue a dozen dots in a circle.

Look forward to being inspired by some pics of 'rustic' versions that have extra time/effort put into them.

And sd72 is right… KL sucks!

True, it doesn't take someone with a PHD to make one of these. Just someone with patience and and a little vision. Most people don't/won't take the time. I, on the other hand, have plenty of time. If you want one, great If you don't want one and feel that anyone can make one.....go make one and get off my ass about it. I make'em and I enjoy doing it, so bite my ass if you feel a preschool student could make them. There is actually a lot more that goes into the process then you might think, but what do I know, I'm just a simpleton that is try to jip people. Go to hell and have a fun time on the way. Yes, I can be a little "cranky" from time to time.

Cacman, I didn't take the time to read through everything completely before I posted my "rebuttal". The clock that you made is beautiful and by no means do I believe that I could do it better. I have only used what I call rustic boxes with simple mechanics to keep costs down. True, there are high dollar units and hardware that can be used to match the quality of the box. The box that you used was beautiful and I'm sure that every part of your work was equally up to par with the box. I in no way was trying to tell anyone how to do anything. I'm a simple man that does all of my work on my porch down here in Louisiana. I use basic tools and truly enjoy everything that I do, whether it's making a clock, making a knife, sharpening a knife, or just smoking a cigar and shooting the breeze with a neighbor. Please don't judge me by my off the cuff comment toward you. I truly do apologize.
