Okay, its been a couple of weeks, but I finally got a chance to smoke a cigar. An unbanded one. From Wombat

This cigar was about 6 x48. A little skinny for a toro, but whatever. Wrapper is smooth, dull brown and thin. Kinda looks like it has a matte finish. Cameroon maybe? Draw is open but not too loose, with a light grassy note on the cold draw. construction and burn are great throughout, though I managed to damage the wrapper while cutting it.

On the light this cigar opens with a pepper blast on the draw. Fairly strong nic kick, but I've been off my game for a bit and an empty stomach to boot. In the mouth the flavor starts out slightly floral and moves towards more of a light roast coffee as it approaches the mid point. towards the end there is a little more cream to the coffee. I get a similar transition of flavor with H Upmann Mag46s, but this cigar is far stronger and much less creamy. On the exhale there is a distinct charred note that makes me think there is some Nicaraguan tobacco in it. The pepper sticks around for a while on this stick. Between that, the char notes on the finish, and the overall strength I would say this stick needs a little more time to reach its full potential. Right now I would score it in the high 80s, with a chance to hit 90 with a year or so of age. If you are a c-bid bargain hunter type, I would say getting this stick for around $6 or less would be a steal. More than that and I would start looking elsewhere.

Overall, the blend doesn't really line up with anything I think I've had, so I don't have a good guess.

Arrived this morning.
I took the DC Maximus and replaced it with a AF Anejo. (Hope that is okay.)

Euodias, you smoked a young pepin blue. You are on point, these become a smooth flavorful bomb after 3 years of age.

Got home after a hellacious night in the lab, got in my jammies, brewed some Decaf, and lit up my unbanded cigar.

For what it's worth, (and don't say I didn't warn you), here is my review.

A beautiful brown wrapper, well constructed with a few small veins visable and a very mild aroma.
Size was about 6 x 48 . ( just guessing )
V-cut pre-light draw was effortless, but could not really taste anything at this point.
After lighting with a JetLine Quad, the smoke started billowing after about 4 or 5 puffs.
I don't have a sophisticated palate when it comes to nuances, but what I got was very mild, yet flavorful tobacco taste.
No pepper or spice that I could sense throughout the entire smoke, (not a bad thing for me). Just a mild flavorful stick.
Absolutely NO BURN ISSUES all the way down to the nub . . . and I DID nub that booger !
Have NO IDEA as to what it might be, but I would definitely get some more for a morning smoke.

I have to say, this had more depth than I remembered the blues having. It pays to pay attention I guess. Pepin is still one of the best, I'm a bigger fan of the black label though.
