After the initial wave of zealots I plan to see this at one of the best theaters in America, The Cinerama in Seattle.

Ya know, as much as I want to see the movie (I think this'll be the best one yet) I am going to wait until the crowds die down. I like watching movies in a half empty theatre and kicking my feet up. I hate crowds.

Now, I am not the Star Wars Nut that I was back in the early 80's. But, I could have sworn that I read back then that it was a Nine Part Series ... and that the original Three was only the middle three, and that Part 1-2-3 were to follow 4-5-6, and that 7-8-9 was to follow 1-2-3. Do you follow me? . . . Now I am hearing that it is only Six?

George Lucas isn't a spring chicken. He has publicly stated he has other interests at this point in his life. He probably would not allow someone else to make the other three episodes while he is alive.

According to my sources, episodes 7, 8 and 9 will be done by one of his close friends who has worked on episodes 1-3 with him. I've read the plots for 7-9, and they seem pretty good.

AH ... so my memory is correct. Way back to the early 80's, at that ... thanks for confirmation, Sfraun04.

You serious?!?! 7-8-9!??? I wonder why he decided to make them in a rather weird order.

Lucas is the only director that I know of that will re-release the same movies over and over again with adding a few scenes and effects with each releasal and they sell every friggin' time. I've read that he is going to re-re-re-release the entire series in 3-D format. How many ways are there to skin a cat?

Here's the deal. Before 7, 8 and 9 get done, he wants to do over the original trilogy with all computer animation...including the actors! He's a crazy, old man but whatever is what I say.

He did it in such a weird order because he was making up everything as he went along. The idea for A New Hope came along, and he had to create some past to it all to give the movie some background. It wasn't until he wrote The Empire Strikes Back that Luke's father, Anakin, was Vader. A lot of the stuff he wrote was made up on the spot. That's why many point out the plot errors that have come about (I'm not gonna list them).

Can't wait to see Episode 3. Been reading the revised scripts for it for over a year now, and now it's going to come to pass. Sweet! I'm one of those that waits til later to see it when the theater is half-full.

I've already got the DVD. Complete and a perfect copy. I picked it up for a whopping ONE, yes ONE US Dollar.

I know, it's wrong to do so, but sometimes......

Buying pirated movies is nothing like buying cigars without paying taxes. When you buy pirated materials, it is not only the government that is missing out on the taxes, but the honest businessman is getting screwed out of the revenue. I do not and never have paid for or knowingly watched pirated movies or listened to pirated music. And yes I supported Lars Ulrich when he went after Napster. If I worked hard and put together an album or made a movie I would be PISSED if I found someone who stole it and made copies, or someone that bought a copy of the stolen material. I made it, and I should be paid for it. Buying pirated material is more like a "dine and dash" than it is buying cigars without paying taxes. The government did not make the cigars. George Lukas made Star Wars.
