How come every time I want to buy a lighter or a cutter first gotta buy it from some a-hole who bought all 20 or all 40 of them 2 seconds after they become available? This goes for all merchandise items right up to humidors. Check out e-bay and amazon...they just undercut CI by a few bucks.

This is not really a big gripe of mine because I have purchased a lot of my stuff here on c-bid and I got it all at unbeatable prices even if I did have to pay a few bucks more than the guy who bought it all first.

I have been curious about this over the last year or so, and I wonder why c-bid/CI allow this practice.

Never lose a bid, it's a sign of weakness.

It's all those rich guys taunting you, they don't even smoke the cigars they win here its sick. They sit there laughing smoking their Cuban cigars that they light with $100 bills.

I done that when I needed gas for lighters or 16 oz. bottles of solution throw bid in for 20 at a buck end up win 5 or so then do not do it again for long time. I try not to do it to much now a I have big collection of cheap lighters cutters etc I give them away to buddies.

I kind of figured on this response. It is a silly question, as I do understand free enterprise.

C-Bid could put a stop to the practice if they actually gave a squat but, apparently they do not. They have to know they are supporting a gray market on E-Bay and elsewhere that is in direct competition with them. I guess all they really care about is moving the merchandise and keeping the cash flow going. That may be the reason many of the auctions are for larger quantities as opposed to just one or two items. If you're quick enough to get your bid in ahead of the re-sellers and use auto bid to automatically increase your bid then they can actually help you to get the item at a lower cost by providing a cushion. Gotta be quick!

Its not that we don't care. This is an auction site and we allow everyone to use it.

Listen, if these 'resellers' buy something for $10 and you can take it from them for $11, you know that you're still getting a great deal. They don't want anything they can only make $1.
