Never been to south Florida. Going to Key West in May for the wifey's birthday.

Got 2 rooms at the Navy Lodge for $80 a night each, for 3 nights. Our friends from Florida will be staying in the other room, and me and my buddy Brad are going charter boat fishing!!

Oh, no... much longer for us. Our friends live in Jax and we're flying in there then driving from Jax to the keys. I think my buddy said it's an 8 hour drive on a good day.

When they were out here we all drove (read: I drove) from my house to San Francisco, which is about that distance. Then we drove back (read: me and Brad) on the Pacific Coast hwy. 13 hours, but we stopped to take pictures and eat.

Yeah I showed her on Google maps and she said "look Florida isn't that big, it's like a sharpie marker wide"......

Did the directions search and showed her the trip details.

Nevermind!

Lotsa fine restaurants and golf courses, airboat rides in the Everglades, grouper fishing and beautiful sunsets on the beach, for the girlfriend of course. Three hours drive to the north is Ybor, for cigars, or 2 1/2 hours to Miami cigar district.

Yeah we're going on the airboat ride for sure, thanks DWD glad to finally get some useful info. Not sure if fishing is gonna happen, Tarpon is on my fishing bucket list......grouper is delicious. I'm not a big golfer after my surgery (Or before!).

Man kind of the cigar nowhere! I've been to Miami but not the cigar district (was during my cigar hiatus) never been to the west coast. We will have a rental car so might trek up to Ybor, would LOVE to get there.

I went to Naples several times in the early 80's. It was a quiet little town bavk then. I understand it's grown a lot since then.

They don't manufacture there- just import and distribute. If You want to see cigars being rolled go to Don Pepin, Titan or the LGC factory. All three are on the same block in little havana. Then eat at cafe versailles for a taste of Cuban culture.

If you will be going to Ybor City, I will meet you there. LMK...
