Smoked frozen's #3 cigar today and proved my noobness by making another mistake. Started catching a cold, and instead of waiting till next weekend, smoked it anyway.

With that said, I did like it. Seemed like it might have been a little harsh, but that could just be because this cold is coming on.

The flavor was familiar, I'm thinking I've smoked it before. Seemed more full bodied than the other two that I smoked, was hard for me to discern the flavor though.

It had a lighter shade of brown wrapper, and was corona shape.

It did taste familiar though, so I'm certain I smoked these or something like these before. I was thinking it tasted more Dominican but sometimes I was thinking Nicaraguan, all I know is that I did enjoy smoking it.

Thanks frozen, what did I smoke?

The blind reviews has been a fun, humbling experience and I look forward to participating in another one in the future.

Next time I participate, I won't smoke a blind one after drinking all night, I'll let them rest a little longer, and I certainly won't smoke one with a cold, lol.

That was a CyB Lonsdale Club. A cigar that I enjoyed a lot of in the past year, but these are harder to find now.

The first time through is exciting for everyone and now you know what to do and what not to do for the next round you get in on.

So, I actually smoked it a couple of days ago, but haven't had a chance to type up the review. .

I smoked cigar #3 which was a dark oily torpedo that was about 7" long and ~54 ring guage. Prelight the cigar had a sweet taste with a hint of cocoa. Immediately upon lighting a nice oaky profile, but the draw was very tight. I continued to struggle with keeping the cigar lit, and fighting a tight draw for the first 2 inches. It took nearly 1.5 hours just to fight through that much. At about the 2 " mark the cigar opened up and had a nice floral nose to it. However, that quickly faded into a bitter, char taste. At this point, I am sorry to say, I gave up. I'm really shocked as this was the first cigar in a blind test, I just did not care for. Maybe it was just a dud, but it was disappointing.

Thanks for the cigar any way though Chazbo, as I do like trying different things and always enjoy participating. . .

well thank goodness I didn't trash the premium. Not surprised at all on what it was, and yeah the misses sometimes happen. I could see it being really good if it was on, this one just wasn't. . .

Smoking cigar number one tonight. It is about 7 inches long about a 50 ring gauge. Light brown wrapper with the pretty smooth finish. Pre light of hay and grass.

Initial light I got some cedar and some oak and a little of the leather.

Ash is very white with the smooth burn and lots of smoke. I will say early this is the premium. There is a creaminess in the smoke. It has a very nice retro hale.

About 1 inch in and I'm getting a little bit of pepper.

I'm reviewing this and I smoke and posting from my phone so the review will be split up into multiple posts.

Adding onto the above. As she held for 2 inches at which point I need to do a slight retouch to the cigar. Getting plenty of pepper and still creamy smooth finish. The cigar has a nice nose to it. Very sweet.

Halfway through and this is a really good cigar. Lots of creamy smoke, notes of peppe and some leather. I'm going to be sorry when I get to the nub. Only complaint is it is smoking pretty fast. Not going to be long enoug. 🇨🇮

I smoked cigar #2 from the Hillbilly blind review sampler last night.

It was a light brown with reddish tint to the wrapper 6x50 figurado. Nicely looking cigar with minimal veins and seems were barely visible. From the looks of it I would say it is the premium but honestly I looked at the others when I grabbed this one and they all looked to be well rolled so judging from appearance only would be tough. Cold draw I got the normal tobacco taste and not much else which I rarely do.

1/3 Starts off with leather being the main note and just a touch of chocolate in the background. Around 3/4 inch I got a large amount of chocolate in the smoke but it only lasted a short period. I feel just the slightest bit of pepper in the back of my throat also. Retro is nice, just intensifies the flavors but doesn't overwhelm.

2/3 Starts off with the ash still holding strong but I knock it off at this point due to not wanting it to fall in my lap. Burn line is raiser sharp with a shiny black line leading the way. About half way through on this 3rd and I got a citrus almost lemon like note but only for one pull on it. Chocolate is mostly gone now and leather has taken over.

3/3 So far I am really enjoying this cigar, however I keep thinking there is going to be a dramatic change to it that never happens ( this is probably due to my thoughts that it was going to be the high end smoke). This 3rd finishes off much like the rest of the cigar.

Overall I definitely enjoyed this smoke and it hit a profile that I have a hard time finding a cigar I enjoy in. Most of the time when I have a cigar that is in this profile it is too mild for me to really enjoy but this one was medium, maybe even medium-full. I really have no clue what this one is and I doubt I have smoked one before but I will guess it is in the around the higher end of the mid range cigar. As for the Brand I really have no idea, I will guess Camacho of some sort as I have gotten similar notes out of them sometimes.

Just finished cigar #1 of the Hillbilly blind review sampler.

It is a classic 5x50 robusto with a maduro wrapper and a single cap that look just a touch sloppy.

I would break this into 3rds but honestly there was not much change at all in this cigar. It started off with a pepper blast. That mellowed just a bit and then the flavors I enjoy out of a maduro entered the picture. There was pepper, cocoa, and earth which is my favorite combination. The burn line was wonky and I did have to touch it up a couple times. The wrapper also split on me but I am not sure if that was due to conditions outside or not, it never hindered the smoke though.

I would say this was the yard gar and on a complete guess maybe an oliva saison maduro.

Great reviews.

#1 Casa Magna Oscuro. Got a bunch of these when I first started cigars. Other than construction issues
Back then I thought they were the cats pajamas.
#2 one of my favorite vitola's from Diesel Hair of the Dog.

6x35 double cap, dark brown tight visible seams, a bit veiny, with a very oily wrapper. With some plume.

First light, draw is alittle on the snug side but producing ample amount of smoke for a 35 ring gauge. Mouth is instantly coated by a thick oily mouth feel.

1/3 thick rich tobacco smoke, alittle pepper but not to much. Oil stays with ya but a short finish. Medium to Full mor on the medium side. Nice start.

2/3 pepper ramping up a good bit, getting a good nicotine tingle in the back of the throat. Still super oily chewy smoke. Finish is staying around longer. Started tunneling on me. Just slowed down my draws and it caught back up after a touch up.

Last third having issues with the burn. Have to really throttle it to produce some smoke but not a bad tasting cigar. One dimensional, thick oily rich tobacco.
Got a good buzz going. Double puffing seems to be the key with this stick.

It's a head scratcher:-k

Pepper died down. Decent flavor, tunneling issues, nice room notes....

Down to the nub. Tunneling gone. Peppers back, still on the fence....

If it wasn't for the burn issues I am willing to go out on a limb and say this might have been a CC with the flavor profile.
But then again, I was pretty much hot boxing it during the second and last third trying to get a decent smoke output.

I'm probably shooting myself in the foot but I'm going to say this was the yard gar. Might have a more conclusive opinion when I ash #3
I'm curious to know what this was.
Thanks for the smoke. It was humbling. I have a feeling I'm about to get schooled on this one.

Paired with a Dickle 12 old fashioned.

Two sugar cubes
Two dashes of bitters
Two teaspoons of water
Two shots of Dickle
Two ice cubes

6.5x35 minimal veins tight invisible seams, dark brown almost rosado in color. Box press Double cap.
Wonderful humidor smell.

First light fairly tight draw but manageable. Medium body slight pepper.
Almost a Pepin flavor.

1/3 white ash. Razor sharp burn snug draw, still getting a bit of a Pepin flavor, with a dark bakers chocolate flavor.
Medium to full flavor and strength

2/3 draw has become more snug, triple puffing gets it rolling. Body has dropped to a medium flavor has changed a bit... Getting more of an espresso note on the finish. Room notes are quite soothing. Almost like walking into a Starbucks. Still tasting that Pepin bite on the finish.

Last third. Great flavor, draw opened up. Not much strength. Enjoying the smoke output.

Nubbed it, and chewed on it a good bit. Good smoke. hot and gassy towards the end, but all and all. Good stick.

I'm thinking Pepin Rolled.

I'm not used to smaller ring gauges.
I know I was smoking them to fast. I'm blaming user error.

I'm blown away...... Plus it has been raining cats and dogs here for the past week. Very high RH.

So last night I got some time to do my final review from the Hillybilly review cigars. This was labeled cigar #3 of the group.

It was a 6x54 nice looking cigar with a light brown wrapper. Had a double or maybe triple cap it was a little hard to tell. The seems were hardly visible except near the cap where it looked like it may be a little loose there.

1/3 Starts off with a strong cedar note. There is a slight pepper noticeable and even stronger on the retro. Just a little bit into it I got a little bit of a nut flavor like cashews. The ash is holding strong and is tight and white, but I knock it off at about an inch as to not fall on my lap.

2/3 This 3rd starts off similar to how the last 3rd finished. Just a little into it though the flavors tone way down but that only last a little bit before the vamp back up. Pepper has faded to the background now but is still present. Cedar moves back into the front with leather being a strong note on the finish. Burn line has been not perfectly straight but no where near needing a touch up.

3/3 Leather is now on the front of the cigar. but I can feel the pepper slowly becoming more relevant once again. Towards the end of the cigar cedar finds a way to be at the front again.

Overall this was a very good cigar and kept bouncing back and forth between different notes. I truly have no idea what this one is but I am guessing it not to be a nicaraguan. I was wrong in thinking I had not tried the cigars in my 2 previous reviews but I would be shocked if I had tried this one before.
