Sick... SICK of the news stories where there is a level of misery (war, famine, immigration gone bad) and part of the narrative is "some/many were women and children"

Why is it extra bad for women and children are miserable? Okay, on some level, the Children is rough. But why women? They are adults and equal to men. All of this "----- is the first female ----- to ever --------"

The media treats women like they are mentally or emotional so weak, that there should be a party every time a woman does something some male has done in the past.

Women are smart, driven, and can accomplish anything they want. Why does the media treat them as headgear wearing, window lickers?

^+1, let's add minorities to the discussion also as their lives seem to matter more as well.

Just trying to reverse the way they've been treated as second class/less important/servants to men throughout human history. Even today, women are nothing more than property in many parts of the world. It's still very much a Man's World. (RIP, James Brown)

How many more months, years, decades, centuries do we need to continue to wear the ribbon, stand up and clap?

First female president?

First second female president?

First non white female president?

First half female Hispanic president?

First half female Hispanic half Black female president?

First, biracial, Jewish, legally blind, amputee, chess playing, WBNA season ticket and poodle owning, frisbee playing, female president to be missing a digit?

Please tell me, at what point does the madness end?

Btw, nobody should confuse having a baby with being a mother. They are not the same.

Women are great. Love them. The best boss I've had and my most productive coworkers are female. It's time to stop giving them a standing ovation for simply accomplishing something while carrying a vagina.

Sure. But doesn't that open the door to tyranny?

If a person knows it is everyone's job to make you happy, you can continually raise the bar to ridiculous levels.

If the garbage doesn't go out, I won't be happy.

If I don't get a new car every six months, I won't be happy.

If you spend any time with any of your friends, ever, I won't be happy.

There has to be a line somewhere.

Does chivalry die because of the emphasis on women being superior? Chivalry paid to people with superior power is more like paying Soprano's style tribute money.

I dont think I've ever said one of those things, 8, and I've never said that women are superior.

For the most part, I'm happy if he's happy, and until recently, I've just been gloriously happy.
