Ok so I was waiting on my bike to get serviced, went to the local B&M in Ft Collins, walked out with a bent briar, a tool and a couple ounces of baccy.
Anyway, I didnt know if theres a noob trade thread for pipe tobacco, but if not what the hell here goes.
I don't have any to trade but if you're willing to help a noob briar azzhat out I'm sure I can send you some good cigars in return.
Looking mainly for suggestions.

BTW John Bull Proper English is cheap on here and not a bad starter English-not overpowering before you jump in the deep end.

Thanks Jeremy, what I've tried so far has been a welcome change to cigars, but would like to try some more different varieties, so PM sent and thanks to all that have replied !

I do enjoy the pipe, but dont have much of a selection. Found a few blends I like a lot, and stuck with them. Mostly va/bur but 2-3 aro and dabble in English but really need to be in the mood.

Nice thing about trying new things with pipes is you can put together a broad sampler of bulk baccy for super cheap. Last time I ordered, got my regulars and then about ten 1oz samplers. All together only about $50. For that $50 ill get easily 50 smokes.

Cant beat the value with pipes.

Made up a N00B/mostly from CBid and the other briar and stogie place baccy sampler. Hopefully will get it mailed in the next day or two. I think the priciest one was some Red Cake bought at a shpo so none of these will break the bank either.

haven't really settled on a favorite although I'm trending toward English and Balkan blends. For us cheap bazzturds, John Bull English Mix never gets too high on here.

Got Bur and Jeremy's NOOB samplers today, plus a couple cob pipes, Thank You very much.Looks like a sittin on the porch weekend.

Did I throw in some "Bur's Scraps and Crap Blend"? I forgot when I had the pipe baccy out. Its just a collection of small amounts left from tins/bags, some cigar/cigarillos that busted up, etc-kind of like the scraps back at a shpo but even less quality control!

Hope you find something you like-but sampling is half the fun imho. I rotate through many different cigars and probably 12 pipe tobaccos with two OTC blends and John Bull being the basic go-to ones right now.

I got home late last night and didint get to look through all of it, but I will check it out tonight.

Be careful of BUR...he will send you so much good stuff that you will be in his debt forever.

With that said, I liked the Edward G Robinson blend and the Entertainer.

Bur hit me with enough pipe baccy just before Christmas that I will be putting up the lights this year before I run out.

You know guys, once we get this going well we should make a list of the blends, find out which ones are most popular between the guys, and do a quantity purchase.

And we need a Pipe Smoking emoticon

The "briar and stogies" place (hmm, if I also mention "Platinum Membership" will I get banned?) has some interesting price points for bulk baccy. Sometimes 5 ounces are cheaper than 3!

And don't worry, while my cellarred pipe baccy isn't the highest quantity, I've been smacked around by the Seattle Pipe Club, GAE and a few others and also won't be running out anytime soon. Heck, a local shpo near the base I'm at gave me a free bowlfull of Westminster to try earlier this afternoon.

Isnt it the Seattle Pipe club that makes the new one with the tribal bird looking thing on the can, and Mississippi mud or something like that? hear their blender is top notched.
