can anyone shed some light on the DE / JDN alliance or non alliance whatever the case may be? I read sometime ago that DE was handling the marketing of JDN products but a falling-out ensued and they were no longer affiliated. I still see them advertised on facing pages in the latest catalog offering freebies of both brands with a box purchase of either. It would seem they've buried the hatchet?

I see. So, Swisher owns BOTH brands? Well, that sucks.

TG and others can enlighten far better than I....however, in my mind, it was simply DE acting as a distribution vehicle for JdN - and little else. I'm not aware of any collaboration on blending, creation, production, etc. So....assuming that was true, I ignored the partnership entirely, believing it meant nothing to me, the consumer.

Swisher bought Drew Estates last year, severing their marketing and distribution alliance with JdN.

That's an entirely different discussion.

TONS of debate on just what that means....99% of it from people who know little about the details or background

Didn't the MUWAT line come out as a collaborative effort between JDN and DE?

Haha. Buddy of mine lit a tipped cigar at the track over the weekend. I always give him a good smoke at the track, he said he didn't want to ask/impose. So I told him id give him a premium swisher, and brought him a t52. He was a lil confused

Is it still a collaborative project? Or does DE own it all now?

Not that it matters, just curious.

You've already shown value in the 'analysis' here and proved you're closer the the 90th percentile

I was mostly (backhandedly) referring to those that want to trash the relationship and either DE or Swisher or DE/Swisher just because it involves DE (or Swisher).....

I'm not about to stand here and claim it is/will be good for LP cigars...however, I'm not about to trash anyone and say that LP is just months away from being a Swisher Sweet, either.

Sorta like: don't judge a book by its cover...or a cigar by its owner? Read/smoke first...

Most confusing thing I've seen since the Wombats sex change operation. Somehow he became a he. Nobody right figured that one out from the gets but we all presume it is something unsevered from birth. It turns out the littler nubby was actually a potrusion from the outty button of the belly. What a great waste of human flesh it was (the whole of the bloke not just the misplaced foreskin I presume).

Should I lol at this turn of events or just shutter in agony and pray a man a grand recovery as he joins the list of the brave Americans that overshadow our troops with the valor and dignity intact as they hit a midlife crisis and assume the surgical position rather than buying a new sports car and lying near incestually with a young rosy sweet breathed broad in an awkward attempt at remaking a scene from American Beauty.

I don't know how the JDN and MUWAT brands worked out in the deal between DE and Swisher. What I do know is that JD is a person I choose not to respect as a human being. I have some DE stuff in my wineador but will never spend another dime on any of his lines. With my money that I work very hard for the little I earn I must respect the person I am making wealthy with where I spend it and that man deserves none. Sorry JDN and the other lines that DE handled distribution for but since I don't know how the Swisher buyout worked for all parties I have not bought any lines associated since.

Can't say I'll boycott, but i agree with your statement.

Never did buy huge amounts of DE, some bait fish and HE on auction here n there. If they stay unchanged, and I can still get for half price, I'll still buy.
