My humidifiers keep falling off their sticky pads/magnets and caused a little mold growth on an empty tray. 2 questions: a) how can I get rid of the mold, b) I super-glued the sticky pads down. Is that ok?

Two things on the mold. One is chlorox, the other would be try distilled white vinegar.

On the humidifier problem, have fun trying to find stuff that sticks. I use double stick carpet tape on small humidifiers, but after a while, and for my more important stash, I use nothing but Bovida packs.

Good luck I am sure some other fogs will have other suggestions.

I agree with specter - ditch the humidifiers and go with novena packs or heartfelt beads. Makes everything easier.

Clean your humidor out. Fine grit sandpaper, then reseason.

Boveda packs and done. Recharge them in a ziploc with a dish of distilled water when they get crunchy. Mold can't grow in distilled water. It'll take about 10 days to recharge the boveda pack.

Beads = done with issues.

Velcro stickies work the best. But if you're serious about the hobby, time to upgrade to beads.

You may not be aware of this, but any Tatuajes, Fuentes, LFDs, and Padrons are VERY susceptible to mold, even if you don't see any on the cigars.
You need to have a specialist inspect them all...................carefully, before returning them to that humi.
I normally charge a bit for this service, but since you're new here, I'll make an exception.
So, if any of the above mentioned cigars were in that humi.................send them to me immediately.

I forgot to mention try the 65RH boveda packs. Get some 69 rh for winter. And if you don't have one get a digital hygrometer.

If you need to recharge them faster, you can put them into the container of distilled water. From what I understand, the "paper" is not really paper and has some wet strength so won't breakdown. I've done this and it only takes 3, at the most 4, days to fully recharge. Once the packs seem recharged, take them out and air dry. After a few hours, you should be good to go.
