Not a fanboy myself, but used to like the Undercrown before I moved into milder profiles...

Which, this seems to be targeting me. I like Herrera's blend in the HE lonsdale, haven't had the Norteno though so not really sure where his preferences lie, but if it's in line with the original HE, I'm gonna try a box.

Sounds like it's an entirely new blend to complement the use of CT shade wrapper of which I am a fan.

I was totally "under" whelmed by "under" crown. Kept waiting for it to change, it never did. Then finally a blast of ammonia at the end. It WAS very nice looking and well behaved though. Have not tried the connie.

Love the 6"x52 Undercrown Toro. This Connecticut should be very good. Will be trying the 7"x54 Corona Doble.

.....Drew Estate has announced a new cigar under its Undercrown brand. The cigar introduces a Connecticut Shade offering in its premium cigar portfolio. The Drew Estate Undercrown will be unveiled at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas. The cigar was blended by Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera and marks his first release outside the Herrera Esteli brand.
.....While the cigar is a different blend, Herrera worked closely with the Undercrown roller team to develop the Undercrown Shade. In a press release announcing the cigar, Herrera stated: “since day one, Drew Estate has demonstrated that no premium cigar company better understands its team, and that the heart of the company is the production floor and factory. This is why I chose to work closely with the rollers responsible for the original Undercrown blend, and challenged them to create a Connecticut blend that would satisfy my palate. It was a long road, taking more than a year to develop. In the end, it was a very rewarding process, as finding a Connecticut blend to fit my palate wasn’t easy. We finally found a marriage of Drew Estate’s unique tobaccos that we believe is really special, and we’re excited to share the new blend with everyone at the IPCPR show.”
.....Undercrown Shade will feature an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Sumatra binder, and a filler consisting of Dominican Criollo 98, Nicaraguan Criollo, and Nicaraguan Criollo. The cigars will be available in the same six vitolas as found in the core Undercrown (San Andres) line. The cigars will be packaged in 25 count boxes.

Seems a lot like the old Chateau Real which was a tasty mild cigar made with a similar blend. I still have a few boxes, that I ration. Always wanted Drew Estate to bring it back.

Perhaps this new cigar will be like the Joya De Nicaragua Clasico which is also not distributed in the USA anymore, but another favorite.
