I won an auction for 100 Fields of gold. Supposedly great everyday sticks. Dirt cheap for sure. Figured what the hell why not. Opened one up and found a damn spring used as filler. What the???? Never will I buy a cheap cigar again. CI and cigarbid should ban this piece of crap cigar.

CI and Cigarbid are here to make a profit. If someone buys a turd for more than their net cost, then they succeeded in those transactions.

FWIW, if you chase turds like this:

Fields of Gold has managed to do the impossible in this day and age… make a cigar that can be had for just 69 cents apiece! Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic using a golden, Connecticut wrapper, these mild and creamy coronas are packaged attractively in massive boxes of 100. Whether you break open a box during a gathering and distribute them amongst your fellow cigar enthusiasts or hoard them all to yourself as an everyday indulgence, Fields of Gold is worth every penny.

Then you can expect them it to taste like this:

[starfish]

You are better off buying a pouch of Black & Milds.

I'm guessing that in addition to being new to these forums, you are also new to cigar smoking. It's ok as at one time we were all in your shoes. I would suggest that you bookmark halfwheel.com. It's one of the better cigar review sites.

If you are gonna stick with this pasttime, I'd also forget the notion that you are going to find many sub $4 smokes that are remarkable enough to have a second one.

I can’t recall ever succumbing to the virtues of a cigar in an ad but iffin’ I did, it would have happened close to 10 years ago. These days, if and when I read an ad, I just chuckle at the b.s. they’re spouting.

I was more suckered by a naive belief that I could locate a dirt cheap cigar that the public had not yet discovered and be fiscally happy for life

^Yeah. I still fall for this, but within limits. I've realized that the super cheap stuff is super cheap for a reason. I still like smoking daily smokes or yardgars+ looking for something that I really like that isn't expensive.

When I was smoking cigars the first time, I tried Duque, and Puros Indios, Pirates Gold (still have some, anyone want to trade?), Oro Cubano, etc.

I’d love to trade for some pirates gold. Pretty confident I could make a respectable trade. Yeah I have some beaters. I’ll see what I’ve got this year

I do wanna try the puro Indios again since Oliva took over. I like the smokes from them more than most people do?

QMPASH has been gone a long time. He thought some awful cigars were really good. I saw him post a few good comments on another site and nevermore. I think the RP Cargos got him.

GURKHA "LEGEND" Wow these are poorly made! The ash in the 1st inch was split into 2 parts, with about 1/4 of it not burning completely and angling off at like a 45 degree angle. Probably because it was made with leaves that were too "green" and would not burn properly. This gave the cigar an AWFUL TASTE and although the next stick burned more evenly, it still tasted ATROCIOS!! UNSMOKEABLE, for me at least. This is with a cigar that supposedly received a "90+" rating!! DON'T BE FOOLED BY GURKHA LEGEND
