Woot! peed. back to the yard.

Today has been a good day.

Just a lil sweaty.

Two of the recent batches of homebrew turned out well, have been plagued with something causing many batches to taste like crushed insects. Keg carbonating currently, but the flat beer passed the taste test.

My experience with bad batches is to bottle them and age them and if you are lucky it improves.

I'll go ahead and break the tension by addressing what must be on everyone's mind: I peed.
To preserve some sence of mystery I will not reveal if I have pooped.

Well, we're really rolling through 500s these days.

I've heard Cuban pee is better after several years of aging.

And Tampontom I almost never bottle anything.

If I do, its after carbonation in keg.

Friends n family never complained about the off flavors, maybe its just me. Wife drinks it, even though I wont, so it's not all lost.

Got the yard mowed.

Gonna be gone sat-sat it'll probably be quite shaggy by the time I get home. Neighbor will do it if I ask, but I don't like to ask. Did ask brother in law to do it for $50 but he said no. I'll just mow when I get home.

Burgers on the grill. Wife fried some bacon for em.

My brewing has been on hold while my house has been torn up for repairs - long story. Had only a few bad batches - one i named "pond scum" but turned about pretty interesting. I found that temperature control during fermentation (using an old refrigerator with temp control) has done the trick to get rid of off flavors.

I have been reducing lawn areas and minimizing mowing.......but then there are those darn weeds. I have tried to reclassify as many as I can in my mind as native flora and wildflowers but some are just weeds.

Better temp control is next on the list of changes. Both in the mash and fermentation.

Weird thing is it was a sudden change, not sporadic or gradual.

I like drinking beer that somebody else (that knows way more than me about brewing) has made.

It's REALLY good, and the only wait I have is either until I get home, or until it gets cold (if it's not already).
