I'm not arguing the fact Tom asked for the footballs to be modified to his liking, or that he destroyed his phone.

My issue is with the punishment. The original reason for the rule was because kickers were over-inflating the balls. The NFL instituted a rule that they had to be between 12.5-13.5 psi, and there would be a $25,000 fine for violating said rule.

4 games, a couple draft picks, and a million dollars later... WTF happened to a $25,000 fine? 🤔

I think the answer to the question lies in your statement... The rule - and subsequently the fine - were imposed because of kickers manipulation of the balls air pressure... Kickers have relatively little effect on the outcome of a games score compared to a quarterback, thus the fine levied against a kicker would be relatively minor compared to the fine levied against the quarterback guilty of the same offense...

And also, something to do with the integrity of the game...

The mainstream media isn't out to get anybody. this isn't politics.

But it makes great news when TB is accused.

TW, we're talking about the air pressure in a football.

I talk about it because the evidence is not merely inconclusive, it virtually points in the other direction. Yet for some unknown reason the league is hellbent set on making a point.

That's their business, I guess.

But to hear supposedly intelligent folks on these boards say he's a cheat? When there is zero evidience?

And don't blame the phone thing. You said he was guilty before you knew about that.

Which proves the point even further: you're manipulated by the media.

The media said the Pats balls were 2 psi low at halftime.

We all believed it.

When the facts were revealed to show otherwise, Pats fans got ridiculed for what? For believing in physics? For better understanding that data can not be hand picked? For believing the words from a quarterback who has never once in 15 years done anything to make you doubt him?

And here's another thing: TB has not only NEVER lost to Andrew Luck, but the Pats have consistently CRUSHED him and the Colts at every meeting.

Is this the game he chooses to risk his career on? For such a TINY difference in psi (The Wells report confirms that even after their careful manipulation of the data that the Patriots balls were mere tenths out of whack from where they should be).

I want to hear or see or smell some evidence before I throw my QB under the bus.

That's the extent of my bias.

You all will be waiting for the next misdirection given by your mainstream media.

It's PSI.

Wait, no, that might be OK. We don't truly understand science.

So it's being uncooperative.

No, wait. The Patriots provided hours and hours of testimony and all NFL property was submitted when requested.

So now it's Brady's phone smash.

And I'm the one who's biased.

That's friggin awesome.

you think we all think tommy boy is God, except for that one game against the colts where he caved to the desires of his mortal flesh?

him and bellycheck have been manipulating the rules and pissing on the integrity of the game for a loooong time...
