I think it's not so much the actual pressure in the balls as it was of the two guys conspiring and farking with them after they were inspected.

Read the sequence of texts here.

What conclusion do you come to?

And you're right, the Sox are the big winner here. Brady has kept the airwaves pretty silent on how screwed up that organization is at the moment (and maybe near future).

Nobody can explain the dialog from May. Any guesses would be just that: a guess. By itself it is pretty damning.

But there is just this one obscure reference in May, then nothing.

Until October when the refs broke the rules and pumped the balls up to 16 psi for the Jets game.

I repeat: The refs pumped the Patriot footballs up to 16 psi.

League mandate is 12.5 to 13.5.

But the Referee employed by the NFL under Roger Goodell pumped up Tom Brady's football to 16 psi.

This "has" to be true.

Because it's clearly stated in the texts.

Odd that the league isn't investigating this gross over inflation, considering how important ball inflation level is.

The more I think about it the more I agree with Tail. We should look at each and every price if information in a vacuum and never put all the pieces together into a larger picture.

The same was true with USADA's reasoned decision. If you parse every event one at a time there was/is no iron clad proof. It's a legitimate defense if you are more interested in defense and winning than truth. It worked for years and years until all the pieces were put together in one place and then the defense got even more aggressive ..... For awhile, until it became absurd and someone had the balks to not cave in.

If you believe everyone is out to get Tom and the Patriots, and have come up with a reason why that would be (they are just to good or some other thing), and believe they will spare no expense to get him (for the original reason or to save face, cornered etc.), it makes it easier to look at each piece of evidence in a vacuum and ignore or discount the counter argument to each one of your excepted truths as false or incorrect.

Each of those pieces can be argued on their own merit and you could conceivably win some and lose some in your mind (usually under the demand for absolutes..... A great defense) but if the truth is really of interest (forget the "fairness of the penalty for the moment) it takes a pretty big leap to proclaim total innocence, and no one is going to jail here. That leap would be very difficult for a non biased individual to make, and likely would not be made by anyone not trying to fight the penalty.

No matter what happens there will be a core group that believe in his innocence just like there are some that still believe spygate was just a simple one time misunderstanding and of course no competitive advantage could have ever been gained in either instance.

I've never viewed the Pats as a cancer in the league, or an organization the commissioner and other owners hate. If anything roger and Kraft seemed like chums I've never viewed Brady as a particularly hated QB. He seems like a golden child and protected by the league. If anything Tom has always seemed to be an untouchable. Weird how everyone became haters just to get them on this when they did nothing wrong. It seems to have happened overnight but perhaps it's been slowly building up over time due to their greatness and stuff.

I'm just glad the hatred of the saints and Peyton et al has been surpassed by that if the Patriots. But who is next? In his random quest to punish someone Goodell may have his sights on your team just like God has been punishing buffalo and Cleveland for their very existence.

In a vacuum?

I'm actually doing the complete opposite.

In a vacuum, the "deflator" moniker is proof enough to punish Brady.

But we're not in a vacuum.

There is an allegation, and an investigation.

The investigation is where the league fails. Because the math doesn't add up. The balls are only low if you ignore the referee's "Best recollection" about which pressure gauge he used pre-game. The same ref that is afforded accolades for his honesty, and is completely believed when he said the Pats balls were 12.5 and the Colts were 13.0.

In a vacuum, we don't need any proof, just accusations.

But in reality, for Brady to be guilty, there has to be a crime.

OJ isn't guilty if Nicole is not murdered.

Show me that the balls were too low and we can talk about Brady's involvement.

Because the data in the Well's report is insulting to anyone who understands documentation.

As for the leagues actions? The NFL doesn't (or didn't) hate the Pats. That's paranoia by Patriot Nation.

This is simply a commissioner who has failed to do the right thing time after time, and needs to prove he is right at any expense. Because even if Brady secretly told Goodell he cheated, and then banged his wife, there is no excuse for the excessive penalty on the team and the player. But this is a separate discussion.

Yesterday, Roger Goodell was asked WHY the league allowed the false data in the damning Chris Mortenson leak to fester for months rather than correct the information.

Goodell's reply:

“First and foremost, we went to an independent investigation that week following the AFC championship game,”

Hmm.

That's odd.

Because the league recently filed legal briefs that explicitly stated that Ted Wells was NOT Independent, nor was he required to be for the investigation.

Sounds like Goodell is either trying to twist the truth (again), or he is just incompetent (still).

If Brady and the Patriots are guilty, why would the league continuously need to resort to lies and misdirection to make their case?

Too bad joe public has already formed their opinion based on that biased pack of lies.
