Jamie........just some things to ponder

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

All we need is a ten and five-er,

Car and key and a sober driver,

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

A couple of frat guys from abilene

Drove out all night to see Robert Earl Keen

At the K-pei swine and sworay dance-

They wore baseball caps and khaki pants-

They wanted cigarettes-so to save a little money-

They got one from this hippie who smelt kina funny

And-next thing they knew they were both pretty hungry-

And pretty thirsty tooo

be -double E double are you-N-beer run

Be -double E double are you-N-beer are you-unn

All we need is a ten and five-er,

Car and key and a sober driver,

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

found a store with a sign-said

There beer was coldest-so they sent

In Brad- cause he looked the oldest

-he got a case of beer and a candy bar

-walked over to where all them registers are

Laid his fake id on the countertop

The clerk looked, he turned up, he looked he stopped.

He said "son, I'm not gonna call the cops, but I'm gonna

Have to keep this card"-

The guys both took it pretty haard

be -double E double are you-N-beer run

Be -double E double are you-N-beer are you-un

Oh how happy we would be-

Had we only brought a better fake id

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

they found this nother old hippie named

Sleepie John-claimed to be the one from the Robert

Earl Keen song

So they gave him all their cash-he bought em some brew

-was a beautiful day out in Santa Cruz

They were feelin' so good it shoulda been a crime-

The crowd was cool and the band was prime

They made it back up front to their seats just in time

So they could sing with all their friends

They sang-"the rode goes on forever and the party

Never eends"

be -double E double are you-N-beer run

All we need is a ten and a five-er car and

Key and a sober driver

Be -double E double are you-N-beer run

Not Texas' "best beer".........Texas best offerings for hot summer days.Think lighter....say pilsner.Something that just hits the spot when the temps are pushing triple digits.I'll leave Jamie to be the juror on my choice. The hard cider I sent falls into the same category.....dry,dry,dry,sweetness was an afterthought just the way I like them.

While I like most of Shiner's offering this isn't one of them.

I get to try few beers anymore.......gout and beer just do not mix well. However in these hot summer months I try every hard cider I can get my hands on.That being said there are some excellent choices out there with the best coming right out of Austin of all damn places.

To this day nothing really hits the spot like a good old original coors........almost 40 years after I had my very first I still love them.Problem is now days beer just doesn't fit into my diet.I keep some old original in the fridge drinking maybe 1 or 2 a month. In the cooler months I love porter's and stouts but only with a meal.In all honesty I have turned into a bourbon and hard cider guy over the last few years......... both are way more gout friendly than beer.

Reminds me of my first trip to the midwest, wondering what the hell all those Hamms signs were about. It's not the worst beer in the world. If you don't think so try Grain Belt - if it's still around.

Product statement states made with the clear blue waters of the Mithi River.I spent 3 weeks on a training exercise up the Mithi, bloated dead animals and people floating downstream in dark brown waters were spotted regularly with multiple sightings a day being the norm.We were told to not even bathe in the river........it was basically a sewer for villages up stream.
