Just wanted to ping the people on here as to how many of yo uhave received your packages be it from C-Bid or bombs that have been opened and retaped with a note from the friendly post man saying the package opened or damaged in transit. I have received a couple few times both bombs and c-bio boxes. I think that is full of crap. I am thinking the mailman in the shipping warehouses are opening them. Especially when the tape is cut right down the middle. Come on.. Can't prove it but still makes me mad.

How many of you has it happened to?

...expect it to happen more and more. It's all part of the changes that are taking place. It's all part of the Patriot Act. It's all part of the war on terror. Don't believe it, go to www.usps.com (the postal website), or better yet, www.aclu.org (the aclu) and read all about it.

No it hasn't. I live overseas and get my mail to one of several different addresses in a couple different places. The addresses are on the "economy" not US Govt or anything like our military friends have. EVERYTHING I get mailed to me gets opened by customs.....especially the packages from Pablo (lol).

Nope not here either... but I was bent over the counter at the local USPS last week and I didn't even get a Kiss ;0)

(Threadjack On)

I mailed out two (large) packages from there, first I went for a box that would fit these items well, $6.00.. then checked out their packing material, (bubblewrap)$4.00 don't know how much for the little peanuts? I did an about face and located some boxes at one of the local grocrie stores, packaged them myself... smiling as I walked back into the USPS to ship (thinking I saved a ton of money) RIGHT!!! this is when it happend to me.. the shipping with insurance (ground Parcial) was $20+ (per Item) and 6-8 days...

(I'm still not farting like a Man yet??)

Next day I went to a local Box-N-Go, to get an estimate on another large package going out... Total was $17. plus some change... this was packaged, bubblewrap, peanuts, stamped fragile, and shipped with FedEx Ground 3-4 days, $100 insurance, cute girl doing the packaging, smiles and the whole 9 yrds...

I'm heading back in to get a total estimate for different shipments sometime this week...

I refuse to be bent over at USPS any longer ;0)

(Threadjack Off)

I havn't had any boxes that had been open. I haven't had as good of service from either UPS or DHL as I have had with USPS. I will pay the little extra (Usually $2-3$) for the better service.

Only ever had two problems...

1. Box from someone went to the wrong address... It was obviously opened, but I was able to confirm the contents were all there. (It was also delayed almost a week.)

2. Boxpass from another board arrived looking like it went to war with the other packages, but again, all contents were confirmed to be intact.

I have had no problems on packages I sent out. Of course most of them have been the priority boxes provided by USPS, with online postage.

Just to let you know Gary . . . It is illegal for anyone at the post office to open your priority packages . . . . . They cannot open it for inspection regardless of suspicions . . . . the only package that can be inspected is Media mail, and customers are informed of that when they ship . . . the reason being, is media mail is the most inexpensive rate, and has stringent guidelines - many people, expecially ebay shippers, are intentionally lying about the contents being media mail in order to save money . . . .

. . . if your packages are opened and resealed, go to your local postmaster immediately, and show him what's happening. . . .

Never happened to me. I use USPS for almost all my "small shipment" needs with favorable results.

Bigger stuff goes to UPS, which seems to be cheaper for larger/heavier boxes.

i haven't had any open boxes come from the mail, but when i came home from my last deployment on leave, the airport people opened my seabag and didn't even take the box of romeo & juliett isom's in the bottem. i though that was wierd.
