Thornton Authorities called to inspect suspicious package 🐴

On Friday, October 30th, 2015, Thornton Colorado authorities were called to a local resident’s mailbox to inspect a suspicious package. The resident told authorities he was afraid to remove the package from his mailbox because it was “bulging” and “looked like it could explode at any moment”. He was quite concerned for his personal safety and those in the close proximity to the mailboxes.

After the bomb squad removed the package from the mailbox the local man was asked if he knew a certain “Conan Kodama” and he was quoted to say “Oh that crazy fuggin Hawaiian, my Brudda from another Mudda”, he went on to say “it was just a simple box split, nothing major”. [frypan] The authorities proceed to place Mr. Young under arrest for cussing in public and just being an all-around Azzhat. Just about the time they were reading him his rights, Mr. Young blurted out “There are cigars and Hawaiian “goodies” in that box!” and “I have more cigars and some pretty good scotch at the house!” at which point a plea bargain was struck (that included the back scratcher had to go to the bomb squad ) and the charges were dropped.🍺

In an unrelated story, it was reported that there was no bomb squad coverage or swat teams available Friday night. It was reported that several local residents were calling in about a very loud and obnoxious group smoking cigars and singing loudly (in a drunken manner usually associated with over consumption of scotch) requesting police to investigate, but a local resident was quoted as saying “every time a police cruiser pulled up, a cheer went up from the crowd and the officers that went in to the crowd to investigate, returned to their cars, smoking a cigar and mumbling something about “crazy Azzhats” and “we’ll be back when we’re off duty”. Another resident who wanted to remain anonymous said the crowd “just kept growing through the night" and the local authorities did their best to "keep it contained to “that one house” over there.”

Rick and I mutually destroy each other's mailboxes. We kinda take turns although last year Rick got me more times than I got him so trying to even out the trips to the hardware store.

As for going home, I usually drive my car over the Likelike and through the Wilson Tunnel, no boat or water wings needed. 😝

BUT....given the right day that ends in Y, and discovering any special regional sundries that are just too good to pass up, never can tell when I might stumble and something could happen to fall into any boxes that just happen to be sitting around. Sometimes I'm just plain clumsy like that.
