...but the nitwit mail carrier made us BOTH sweat for it!

It has been a quiet week in my little kingdom.
Children are calm and orderly.
Schedule is routine and predictable.
Weather is most agreeable.
Postal service is precise and unparalleled.
The only complaint that I have is that the royal wine cellar is becoming somewhat bare...which may account for the fact that I am able to type the above statements with a straight face, in spite of the fact that none of them are remotely factual.

I had a message from Delta1 yesterday, inquiring as to the status of a "peace offering" that had shown delivery on Monday.
Residents of one neighboring kingdom are...less than ideal, and I was hoping that the package had not been misdirected across their borders.
Having contacted the proper postal authorities today, I was informed that the carrier thought he may have put the package locker key into the mailbox directly above mine, and the owner simply hadn't checked their mail yet.
I found that unlikely, as it had been five days since delivery, and since that neighbor is NOT out of town.
I told the supervisor that I would speak with that neighbor and inquire about the package when I got home, and the message was relayed.
The next word was that the carrier happened to be in the immediate area and would look into it for me, as he was certain the key was in that box and simply hadn't been picked up yet.
A block from home, princess-the -younger texted me to let me know that a package had been delivered to the door, and that the carrier claimed to have mistakenly put the key into the outgoing mail box.
I question this only because he has delivered mail to the community box every day, and if this were true, it means he didn't pick up outgoing mail all week. It also means that, when he opend the single, large door on the back of the community mailbox every day, he failed to see the key that he claims was in the outgoing mailbox...
every....
single...
day.
BUT, the offering did finally arrive safely...although I have to say, I can't help but feel that this "peace offering" is more than a little..shall we say...passive aggressive?

Holy mother of marmots, Delta!
A box of Big Island brownies (princess the younger valiantly offered to check them for quality)
Beef jerky (which I ALWAYS try to keep on hand in my desk for a boost at work!)
100% Ka'u coffee (which I have designated "my reward for surviving the school Christmas program and all the chaos leading up to said program")
Kashi chocolate almond sea salt granola bars (no, you may not have one - these are teacher snacks. Sit down and eat your applesauce.)
2009 chateau d'Armailhac Bordeaux...o...m...g! Restraint be damned...THIS will not make it to Monday!
El Centurion
Las Calaveras
Torano tribute
UF-13
Opus X
AND
One box of Partagas culebras YOWZA! (I am a HUGE Partagas gal!)

HOLY MOLY, THANK YOU, AL!
This was worth fighting for!
