Hey gents and ladies. It's been a few months since I've been around, but I had a great gig in the cigar industry that had me travelling a ton, with the highlight being able to work at the IPCPR show this year. Anyway, it'll be nice to catch up on some of the shenanigans around here. Most of all, I hope everyone has had a happy and healthy year, and has a wonderful Christmas/[insert holiday here].

Best,

Nick

Oh yeah, I slept for 2 straight days after. Especially since it was in New Orleans, the heat was crazy, but we'll worth it. Merry Charistmas!

So, then, what's new in the cigar world?

You know, uh, besides this:

That bill is absolutely outrageous, and could be devastating to us. Fortunately, I think that it'll will get tied up in legal battles for at least another few years.

In other news...

La Mission du L'Atelier was my favorite cigar of IPCPR.

The Tat Hyde is an absolutely fantastic cigar (have some if anyone is looking to try one)

I had the privilege of representing 2 of this year's top 10 cigars (including number 1!)

And finally, definitely missed being on here and glad to be back!

TM: I know the shpo you're talking about and he's an awesome guy!

Bassman: We can do a nice 5er trade. Let's get the ball rolling on that!

Agreed..Kevin IS a true BOTL and a good all around guy. It's unfortunate that the cigar "climate " in my home state is SO unfriendly to the premium cigar industry. He / they very much wanted to expand and add on a killer lounge...but under this admin. the banks are being used to stymie the growth industry in the premium cigar market by NOT extending ANY credit to these shop owners. And then on top of that he / they are up against " Wild Bills " who seem to owned by Mid Easterners who are either trying to buy them out or simply undercutting existing shpos by setting up in that area and pricing their products @ a loss in an attempt to draw customers from existing shops to them. Once the competition is gone....pricing goes UP.

Oh believe me I understand. I live just outside Detroit and Michigan was one of my territorites when I was a rep. It's all a mess. Charging so much money for the license and being so strict about how these businesses operate, while simultaneously letting Wild Bills open 62 locations. It's unbelievable. All the more reason we need to support our local shpos especially here in the mitten.
